One side of the tape reads"FLAVOR ZONE" COOKING THE MODERN DUTCH OVEN METHOD" and features a colonial woman in front of a cooking hearth. The other side reads"Westinghouse"FLAVOR ZONE" ELECTRIC RANGE" and has a picture of the range. The edge rim reads"W.P. BUSHELL& CO. NEW YORK, N.Y. P.N. CO. CHGO. PAT. 7-10-1917 11-4-1919" and the edge is stamped"PAT 7-10-17 P.N. CO. The tape measures about 1 1/2" across and 1/2" tall. Frequently these old tapes will not retract. I have extended the tape to 47" inches. When released the tape quickly retracted to 1/4" After repeated(over 24) attempts of extending the tape ... moreto 20 inches or more. The tape retracts to less than 1/2" nearly every time the tape is released and allowed to retract on it's own. The couple times it did not retract all the way, it stopped at less than 1 inch and with a little finesse(an additional pull and release, or a gentle shake) the tape retracted to the length shown in the pictures. There is a mark on the tape at about the 46" mark. I assume it is an end of tape warning and the full length of the tape is 48" Great original condition. Shows minimal wear and rub to the celluloid. Vintage Celluloid Figural Measuring Tape This auction is for a lovely celluloid measuring tape. Depicting the head of a black gentleman smoking a cigarette. It dates from circa 1930/40. This item measures approx. 3.5cm x 5cm x 2.5cm just under 5.5cm in height and has a base diameter of approx. 3cm. By pulling at the celluloid cigarette, the fabric tape can be pulled out. The tape, which is measured in inches to one side and cm to the other. The tape is a little temperamental, at times it automatically feeds back into the man's mouth via the spring mechanism, but other times it needs a bit of assistance. This item displays typical wear for its age. The case displays rubbing& wear to the surface. With two small areas of lightening to the man's black hair. Charming antique. Heavy celluloid, BLACK Americana. Figural head tape measure. Circa 1920, made in Germany. Measuring just under 2 inches(1 3/4" high she has chubby features including full cheeks. Small mouth, molded and painted eyebrows and cute intaglio, side-glancing eyes. CHARMING VICTORIAN BRASS DONKEY SEWING TAPE MEASURE fantastic condition Up for auction is a charming Victorian brass tape measure in the shape of a donkey with original ruby glass eyes. The measuring tape is concealed in the belly and when it is drawn out the tail spins round. It is wound back in by the winding the tail. I would think that it dates from around 1880/90. The tape is made of cotton and is printed with scales in centimetres and inches- it goes up to 100 cm one side and 40 inches on the other. The tape is complete and still retains a little bit of selvage at the end before the printed scale starts and also has the ribbed brass end to the tape. I would think this little tape must be quite a rare find as I would think that many children would have loved to get their hands on it. It is in amazingly good original condition and does ... morenot look to have been used very much if at all. The brass still retains much of its original gilding. It measures 5.7 cm(2 ¼ inches) tall by 6 cm(2 3/8 inches) long. ITEM AS PER THE IMAGES. Lot of Vintage Sewing Items - Pin Sheets Tape Measure Collar Supporter & Hat Pin
This is a great lot of vintage sewing items. The lot features the following items: 1. A pin sheet that states" Best Steel Pins" at the top and Adamantine with a beautiful picture in black and white that says" The english derby 400 Solid English Pins" Not all 400 of the pins are there and some of the pins have some rust but the sheet is in excellent condition with only a few tiny tears on the edges. 2. The second item is similar to the first but is 400 Washington Needle Pointed Pins. This set is in similar condition with the paper in tact but not all 400 of the pins are there and some do have some rust on it. There are a few small tears on the edges. 3. This set also includes a fabric/ cloth tape measure that has a leather tab at the end and" Chas. A. Stevens& Bros Man'f'rs of suits& Cloaks 109-11-13-15 ... morestate st. Chicago" There is some discoloration and age to it but it is in overall good condition. 4. 33 Black glass hat pins and 1 clear glass hat pin. The pins vary in side and shape but are all about the same length( 3 1/4" in length) Some have some chips in the glass but most do not. There is also some rust on all of the metal pins. They have not been attempted to be cleaned. 5. There are also two small metal tools. One his a hook that has no markings and does have some rust. I'm not sure what the other piece is, it looks like a metal collar stay but I don't believe that is what it is. It does say" The Prudential Life Insurance" on the side. 6. The last items are" Christy Invisible Collar Supporters" on the original card and unused. There are 4 cards all identical and all containing 3 collar stays. They are unused and were used in womens clothing to keep the collars up. A few of the collar stays have some minor rust. They are what originally came in the box that states on the end" Christy Invisible Collar Supporter One Dozen. Inch. The box does have some damage but it still is intact. This is a great lot of vintage sewing items!

Both come with what appear to be orig. papers and boxes. Both boxes are in rough shape esp the box for the brown case ruler.one side is missing. I unrolled each tape measure and they each go to the indicated length(75' on green measure and 50' on the brown) Both wind up as they should. First 5 1/2" of the brown measure are reinforced as you can see from the extra material stitched on the back. Grandpop has pencil writing inside each box. ANTIQUE PAINTED EARLY TUNBRIDGE WARE TAPE MEASURE circa 1820
A small Georgian Tunbridge ware painted wood tape measure. Circa 1800-1820. It has its original silk ribbon marked with measurements, which can be retracted by turning the top.
