Up for auction is a wonderful piece of black Americana/memorabilia. This is a celluloid black boy tape measure. This is in great shape. I don't like to use the word"excellent" in my descriptions. But it is close too. He has a cigarette in his mouth that you pull out and the tape comes out. You can see that from my pictures. It comes out and retracts. There is what I believe to be one of those stickers that has"souvenir of" but it is unreadable and a lot of it is missing. This is around the base of his head on the backside. Lot of Sewing Needle Case Bakelite Thimble Measure Tape Hook Enamel Handle Kit
This auction is for a lot of sewing accessories. A lovely needle case with spool and thimble from around the 1930/40's marked Germany. The case is metal with enamel in a torpedo shape. There is some loss of enamel see photo 8.9 and 10. It pulls apart to reveal metal thimble and a plastic spool that could be used for storing needles. It measures approx 2" long x 3/4" in diameter. The bakelite thimble marked Germany. Measures 1"tall x 3/4"in diameter and is in good condition for its age. The tape m easure cloth type and springs back into the disk well. Diameter of 1 1/2" across. And retains the original tape measure metal pull ring. One place with surface graze. The very thin latch hook has guilloche enamel handle with roses.
