I pulled it out to reveal 70 inches of tape before it got tight. And it will work if you want to use it but the retracting mechanism inside is not like it was along time ago and is kinda loose so it retracts by itself until it reaches around 14-16 and then you push it in easily without much effort the rest of the way if it stalls. the other is made from a vintage pink plastic& a very rare interesting peice- i have never seen one like this before. This was from a German womens collection and most of her notions ... morewere from germany and very old. because of the old colonial german design carved into it I assume its from Germany a long time ago. One side shows a grandma in a chair spanking a boy. the other side has a carving of a man in woman in colonial clothing dancing to music the man is playing on his instrument. there is a silver push button on this side that you would push to retract. the button will not retract the last 6 inches of the tape and the material tape shows wear from old age. the side of this where it seals at the seam is a little knicked up in 1 spot like someone tried to pry it open once but did not succeed, however they did succeed in cracking the top half. It is cracks and has wear but it is still solid and intact. it does not seem too brittle and should have many more years of life is its just going into a collection of old sewing equipment.

And on that end is a faintly stamped Nov 1, 1954. The case feels like it's covered in leather. It's been stored in the original box with description and packing papers included. Ohio, distributors of heating, air conditioning and ventilation products. The tape probably dates to the 1960s and measures 1 5/8" square and 3/8" thick. It was made by Barlow and is stainless steel with a metal tape. The top has green enameling with the company name, phone, address, etc. The tape is in very nice condition-used lightly. No scratches on case, top has no scratches or other distractions, and the tape retracts. It comes in its original box with a gold foil lid. Nice little advertising piece. Thanks for looking.

Antique Reverse Painted Glass Tape Measure * New Pier, Brighton * Circa 1850
Tape25 Antique Reverse Painted Glass Tape Measure English* Circa 1850 This little tape measure is a lovely example of the reverse painted glass pieces from the early Victorian era. This one has a picture of the New Pier. Brighton. These were actually hand painted onto the back of the glass following a black line print transfer that was applied first. The sides and back are brass colored but it attracts a magnet so they must be steel. The woven tape is original and marked in inches(begins at 7" The tape automatically retracts back into the case when released. The case measures 1 1/2" in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips. Dents or cracks. Some pin cushions in this style are shown on p. 141 of Nerylla Taunton's book Antique Needlework Tools but the tape measures are much harder to find. This is a very nice functional vintage pocket tape measure. Do to the size and simplicity. I am inclined to believe it is a tayor's pocket tape measure used in alterations. It is made of tin, and is stamped"Made in Germany" on the side. Some wear to the metal, but this is a pre-1945 item. The no corrosion or"greenies, and it is not dented. this is an exquisite very rare antique hand carved asian ox bone dual coy fish tape measure. it is a total length of 58 inches long and is beautifully cut with very ornate/ intricate detailing and cut into a stylized intertwined double coy pose. there are two detailed knobs on each side and they are the reels to reel in the tape. the tape has a gorgeous fish finial that reels into the coys mouth when fully reeled in. it is in great shape and measures 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches very dense and has wonderful grain from the bone. Tricon Restaurants Tape Measure
A nice tape measure given to employees of Tricon Global Restaurants. Pizza Hut, Taco Bell aand KFC back around 1997. Tape is in inches,60, on one side and cm,150, on the other. In good used condition. 2" I am not a dealer. All the items I'm listing are things I've collected over the years or inherited from family. They all come from a smoke free home. I try to be as accurate as I can in the description and although I do not offer refunds I will consider that option if I unintentionally misrepresent something. In my auctions I list a 3 day shipping time but it's usually 24 hours or less. I work retail and work a lot of long and odd hours so I say 3 days. A Nice Addition To A Figural Tape Measure Collection A Vintage Brass Water Wheel Or Mill Figural Tape Measure With A Water Wheel That Turns When The Tape Is Pulled Out Or Retracts! This tape is found on page 121 of Arbittier& Morphy's Collecting Figural Tape Measures. According to the authors. This is a value index 4 on their scale of 5. This brass tape measure is in good condition and has a beautiful patina. The brass brass building is all there. Including the stairs up the back of the building. There are no cracks or breaks. The tape is mechanical. The water wheel moves when you pull the tape out and retracts when the tape releases. The tape is tan silk. Inches are marked on both sides. The silk is all there. But it is fragile so I have not pulled it out very far. The piece of metal that is the pull tab is present but the silk is ... moreslightly ripped. The tape is approx. 1 1/2" tall and is 1 2/4" long and 1/12" wide. This item comes from our smoke free home. Please look to be certain you know exactly what you are bidding on.
