This Pipe Ax was copied from an original ax. The orginal was found near Saginaw Michigan and is in a private collection.The ax is cast with 4140 steel and will hold a good edge. This ax is shown in many historical books and probably dates from the last quarter of the 18th century or early 19th century. I have shown a close up photo of the ax head to show you the small pits in the head ax. The mold was made right from the original ax as it was found. The ax was really not made for chopping wood. But most likely as a weapon or a show piece. I was told that in 1820 there were 2 blacksmiths that worked in the area where this ax was found, it could be from one of those blacksmiths. The overall lenght of the handle is 19" the ax head measures 8 1/4" long with the cutting edge measuring at 2 3/4" The bowl measures 1 1/4" x 1" ... moreand is not drilled. The handle is not drilled as well. Also the cutting edge is not sharp and will need to be sharpened by the customer. There is not many reproduction ax's made to look like this one, what makes this ax different is it looks like it has been used for many years. This would make a good display ax or for re-enactors wanting to enhance there persona. Also want to be clear that this ax is a reproduction and not an original. This Ax is made here in the U.S.A.

Type of Manufacture: New Made Items New Made Item: This all steel helmet comes complete with the early model features. Such as a early war three piece padded leather liner, a Pickelhaulbe style thick leather adjustable chin strap with securing rings to the inside of the helmet bowl. Both of these features were changed for the M-1918 Production. This M-1916 has the required"horns" for ventilation and for mounting the Sniper Brow Plate. It also has the signature German Helmet rolled edge. The finish/color is classic matte hand painted multi-panel camouflage. Every helmet has been hand painted and aged. So none will be the same to give it a one-of-a-kind personalization as if it was picked up after a battle put away in a safe place and rediscovered 70 ... moreyears later. Sizing: One size fits most; this helmet comes with an adjustable drawstring leather liner. The liner is approximately adjustable from 7 to 7 1/2 and can be made larger with some cutting of the liner padding(however, any alterations of this nature will make the helmet non-returnable) SKU: AGG1915C.
