I did not see any maker's marks. The inside has a red lacquer finish. The inside of the lid is also red. In places where the finish has worn away you can see the wooden box underneath. It features two large cranes standing in a tree and a further two cranes in flight. It would appear to be embroidered in silk on a silk background, I am unable to guarantee this is correct but it most certainly appears to be. The back ground is a very light silver grey in colour. The embroidery is clean and bright with no signs of fading. The picture measures approximately 14"x20" and is unframed. The picture has been lose mounted on a cardboard base, the base would benefit from being replaced. There is some little damage to the left hand side of the picture also to the right hand top corner. You are bidding on a really lovely large Bowl manufactured by one of England's oldest porcelain producers Maling of Newcastle upon Tyne This bowl is in a blue crane pattern with gilt rims. Number 2636, which was issued in the 1910's. Maling ceased trading in 1963. It really is a lovely piece. It is 2 3/4" in height to the rim and is 9 1/2" in diameter. It is in lovely condition(70+ years) with no chips. Cracks with only light age related crazing to the base and some rubbing to the gilt. There are no signs of wear to the pattern and just a couple of scuffs in the interior. The logo is unmarked denoting 1st quality when manufactured. It has it's flaws. But it sure is cute. This is a handpainted creamer by L& Sons Ltd. Hanley England and has the stamp on the bottom in photo five. The flaws I'm talking about are the small scratches on the body of the creamer, which has taken away some of the paint overall. I don't see any chips or cracks. There is a manufacture drip of glaze on the inside of the creamer running down the inside. There is a spot of yellow paint missing on top of the handle and the base ring is well worn due to age. The creamer stands approx. 3 3/4" tall and the widest part of the creamer is approx. 11" around. Nice painting of cranes in the water and forest. beautiful colors.

This is a very unusual vase which has a tapering cylindrical shape on 3 bun feet. The design we think is hand painted and consists of two crowned cranes on a landscape with some foliage. The vase stands approximately 20cms(8” tall. The base is about 10cms(4” in diameter and the top about 7cms(2.75” in diameter. The vase is marked underneath with the words Trade Mark and two overlaid triangles. The bottom one has horizontal stripes and the top one has the initials B&Co or R&Co in it. This is a lovely Antique Blue + White Gourd Shaped Vase Decorated with Cranes and Clouds in a very busy transfer print pattern. Probably 19thC posiibly older. The Ebay system is determined that this is Chinese so who am I to argue. It is certainly an oriental pattern and style. The vase is very deceptively lightweight when you pick it up. No makers marks or similar. The pattern is very busy with lots of birds(Stylised cranes? fluffy clouds and other decoration. There is an old repair to the rim and some glue spillage(now discoloured) on the body. This would clean off easily. The only damage I can see is to the rim the rest of the vase is sound. ANTIQUE CHINESE ROBE: QING DYNASTY, WITH CRANES AND BATS
This is a lovely old Chinese robe from the early 1900's. Possibly late 1800's, Qing Dynasty period. Possibly an'everyday' robe, but I have no expertise in this area. The main fabric is a silk brocade in a light pink with a hint of melon color with faint horizontal stripes. Flowers and butterflies. There are a half-dozen pencil-eraser sized holes, some minor splitting and loose seams under the arms, but not bad for its age! There are also some dirt/stains on the left front which I have tried to capture, as well as at the hemline. The biggest problem with the brocade, which in itself is still quite sturdy, is fading and blotching. See photo# 3 and 6] There are also a couple of faint lines of what looks to be ink on the left front. The ends of the sleeves are not original, but have been replaced at some point with a different ... moreblack satin, not sure if it is even silk and then a gold-colored brocade fabric and finished rather poorly with a black twill tape. The new part of the sleeves is lined with a bright green cotton or linen blend fabric[photo#8] Not in keeping with the rest of this garment! This robe is being offered'as is' and has considerable issues. But the embroidery ribbon alone is quite amazing! Cranes in all different positions are flying around the black silk borders, interspersed with many different-colored[green blue, melon-pink, purple] bats. There are royal blue swirls with white'commas' surrounding the cranes and bats- I am not sure if these are clouds with water droplets? There are a few spots where the blue embroidery has thinned[photo#12, but the rest is in excellent shape. It is 2-1/4" wide and is faced with a 7/8" black silk, so it is protected, especially on the hem which has quite a bit of fraying. There must be around 4 yards! Let me know if you need an exact measurement. On the inner edge of the crane embroidery is another silk ribbon which is 1-3/8" wide. This is a really beautiful miniature double handled pot/vase depicting a group of cranes. This is the typical work of Japanese artistry that screams sheer elegance! Some wear noted on the silver rim but it is in very good condition for it's age with no chips or cracks. Oriental Tea Cup w/Strainer and Lid This is a very nice Oriental-style tea cup for use with loose tea leaves. The strainer holds the tea and allows it to steep while holding the leaves. The lid keeps the water hot. This cup holds 12 ounces of liquid. 5 and 1/2 inches tall with the lid on. About 3 inches across. The appliqued decoration is of two red-headed white cranes in a landscape with trees and setting sun. Oriental lettering on the other side of the cup. Made from bright white ceramic and is very sturdy. This was pre-owned but never used. So it is very clean with no staining. There is a slight indentation on the underside of the lid, but this is glazed over, so it happened in the kiln. A lovely gift for the tea lover in your life! Thanks for looking!

There is a little wear and a few minor maker's flaws. But there are no chips, cracks, or other significant damage. The cranes may be a little hard to make out in the sample photos and with the actual cup in hand, since most of their bodies are painted in white. Vintage Silk Chinese Wedding / Court Skirt - Hand Embroidered Cranes
This is a beautiful vintage embroidered Chinese Wedding or Court silk skirt from about 1970. It is made of red silk and is hand embroidered with silver metallic thread and the silver metallic is then over embroidered in other colors. It is made of two panels that button together at the top. The silk is all hand stitched down to form pleating. The imagery features several beautiful cranes. Flowers and water and waves across the bottom. It is in amazing condition. Colors are vibrant and there are no rips or tears anywhere. The embroidery is very well executed. This is a beautiful example of Chinese embroidery work. It was most likely used originally as a wedding skirt.
