Reluctantly. I offer for sale my circa 1880's, Geo. C. Dobson Victor Gem 5-string banjo.This is a beautiful, wonderful, great sounding banjo! Loud! This was my favorite banjo for camping, as it is fairly light weight(4 lbs. 2 oz. and compact(34 3/4" overall) Scale length is approximately 25 1/4"For sale only because I have a son in college, and need the money. I will also be listing guitars and other banjos(see my Gretsch Historic Series G3161, semi-hollow body electric guitar, currently listed) Beautiful metal clad wood rim. With patina, 11" skin head, 24 brackets, beautiful pearl inlays, friction tuners with Ivoroid tuning knobs, no-knot tailpiece, 17 frets. Dowel stick has celluloid plate engraved"VICTOR" and the stick is stamped"GEM" and"GEO. C. DOBSON/ 290 SHAWMUT AVE/ BOSTON. MASS" 1-7/32" ... morenut width. This banjo is playable. And I have played it a lot, but would benefit from work on the dowel, see photo number 9. Somewhere along the way, someone glued a piece on the dowel, undoubtedly, because the hole became to big where the bolt goes into the dowel(forgive my lack of technical expertise with the language, as I am not a banjo expert, just a player) Could be restored, or left the way it is. The banjo is currently set up with the Grover bridge, pictured, but I am including a taller bridge, not pictured, that will make playing easier. Bridge will be removed for shipping. 1890's Geo C Dobson Victor Professional Openback Banjo
I'm selling my Geo C Dobson. When I got the banjo the pearwood fingerboard had disintegrated off the neck and there was a small chip/crack right where the 5th string pip had been.Fully repaired and new ebony fretless fingerboard installed. I was able to reinstall an original abalone horseshoe inlay on the scoop and there is an abalone star inlay on the headstock. Other than that the banjo was in amazing shape for its age. It has the spun-over rim. A John Balch hidehead, no-knot tailpiece.custom made birch bridge, nylon Strings. The four long string tuners are original and the 5th string tuner is geared. I don't think it is original, but it comes with a very old chip-board case that I think it sat in for many years. Pretty banjo

Lot of 27 Vintage Animal Traps Oneida Victor Trapping Fur Antique 4.5" or less
This is a large lot of 27 old vintage hunting traps found in an old shed in Iowa. The largest trap has a 4.5 inch spread. Most of them are Victor traps with a"V" cut out in the plate. Out of all 27 traps. 16 have round plates with a"V" cut out, 3 have a square plate with a"V" cut out, 4 have round plates with no"V" cut out, 1 trap has no plate(pictured above) 2 are body traps, and 1 is a mole trap. There are various different sizes and styles of trap within this lot, including 3 coil spring traps and 2 double spring traps. There is something written on the plates of the traps without the"V" but I cannot make out what they say. One of these plates is pictured above. All of the traps are very rusty and show corrosion and pitting. All the traps are have been tried and are able to be set. The ... moretraps all have chains, although some are missing the ring at the end. There are stakes attached to the rings of 12 of the traps. Pair of Used Victor Rosebud Torch Heads Model 12-T11 & 8-T11 Oxy-Actylene Fueled
I have a pair of used Victor rosebud torch heads for an Oxy-Acetylene outfit up for auction today. One is a model 12-T11 and the other a smaller 8-T11. The larger 17 1/2" long#12-T11 assembly is in good used condition, burner head looks to be good, tightening nut& both o-rings look good on the other end. The smaller 12" tall, 8-T11 unit has a very nice head on it, the nut and seat looks like they need to be polished out properly as they some aging on the brass from sitting around for a long while in storage, o-rings look to be in good condition. I polished out the brass body of each so the Victor numbers could be seen in the pictures. I do combine shipping on my auctions if it is physically possible. It is a 10" black and white TV with a US standard VHF tuner channels 2 thru 13. It is equipped with a KCS 28-1 chassis. Kinescope picture tube 10BP4 and one 5" x 7" Elliptical PM speaker. It measures about 23 inches wide by about 16 inches high by about 20 ¼ inches deep and weighs about 85 pounds. It is in pretty good condition with only minor blemishes. It is missing one knob but is otherwise intact. When plugged in all the tubes appear to light up. Including the back of the picture tube, but nothing comes on in the front of the picture tube.
