This tray is by the Krantz. Smith& Co. of Honesdale, PA. This bread tray is in their"Floral" pattern. It measures 12.5" long. 6" wide, and 2.5" tall. A gorgeous combination of classic cut motifs in the band around the tray, with the addition of whimsical engraved and cut thistle buds. Elongated punties with blazed edges form flowers on the base of the tray as well as other unique motifs. This piece was identified by its image in the compilation Krantz. Smith& Co. 1900, 1904 and 1912 Catalog, that was reissued by the American Cut Glass Association- please see reference ... morephotos above. Only one tipped tooth. Includes clippings from the” Wings for Britain” campaign plus a contribution chit for 10 cents signed by noted English Actor C. Aubrey Smith whose autograph is currently at auction on-line for $50. I defer to you to execute the search. Also included are five Government Christmas cards from the era. Some of which are signed by a Wm Morgan, whose function I cannot determine. There are numerous clippings about RAF and CRAF pilots. Planes and leaders. Also included are clippings about Dunkirk, Dieppe and other battles. There are also some very interesting clippings about the Royal Family including a charming ... morepicture of a then Princess Elizabeth as a teen. Lastly. The scrapbooks clearly convey an abiding confidence in Prime Minister William Churchill and the greatness of the British Empire. The three scrapbooks together are five inches high with roughly 150 pages. About 25 of which are blank. Many of the pages themselves are worn and torn with age, but each clipping and article looks exactly as it did 75-years ago. There are also numerous loose clippings scattered throughout the books, which I have not gone through. The scrapbooks are 12”x14 ½” and their total weight is about five pounds. Accordingly. Smith & Wesson 820 Lead Chain with Handcuffs
This is an original Smith& Wesson Model 820 Lead Chain(1970s vintage) that consists of a large steel ring and a 5 foot long steel chain. Attached to the lead chain is a pair of Smith& Wesson Model 100 Handcuffs(Vintage 1990s) The original Model 820 Lead Chain had a Model 90 handcuff. The Model 100 cuffs are joined to the chain with a welded stainless steel link- see photo for details. Both locks work correctly on single and double action and one key is included. There is no rust and only minor scratches in the original nickel finish. Ribbon from the Opening of the Northern State Parkway Extension Westbury Long Island December 17. 1938 Ribbon cut by Al Smith The ceremony was attended by Robert Moses. Governor Lehman, J. Russel Sprague, Arthur Brandt, along with Alfred Smith. 300 cars lined up on the asphalt. Which was designed to make night driving much easier over concrete. Smith cut the ribbon on the new extension in Westbury. About 500 yards east of Glen Cove Road. The top ribbon is orange and the bottom ribbon is dark blue.
