Nice Quality 1928 Campaign Pin: AL SMITH, FIRST CATHOLIC PRESIDENTIAL CONTENDER
Unlike most cheaply made political campaign pins. This one is made of brass and is nicely enameled. As shown, the piece bears the name of Al Smith, the Democratic contender in the 1928 presidential election, was soundly and roundly defeated by Herbert Hoover. Smiths' defeat was widely believed to have been the result of his Roman Catholicism. The pin measures 3/4" x 1/4" and is in nice condition, though the brass could stand some buffing. Buyer pays $2.50 postage/handling(padded envelope) Georgia residents add 6% sales tax.

These are the most unusual- certainly the most authentic-looking-political button reproductions I've ever seen. Most reproductions are obviously fake(e.g.1968 Kleenex tissues" Made in Japan" etc. These are not. My father purchased them from an antique shop in the 1970's, thinking they were real. Years later, I discovered from some more experienced collectors that they were not authentic. The foxing and rust on these items actually appears the same as it did 40 years ago. Could these items been produced that way originally to make them look older than they were(i.e. artificially aged) I don't know WHO produced them, WHEN they were produced, or even WHY they were produced. But I am offering them for sale. BTW. even if you're not interested in buying them. I'd love to know the history of these if anyone knows it.

This vintage pressed glass lamp has two ballerina’s on the base and a very ornate parasol or umbrella like shade. This is a really nice vintage pressed glass lamp with it’s original pattern glass shade. Size: 11” high Condition: Shade is in excellent condition no chips. Cracks or repairs. 1930'S L E SMITH DEPRESSION GLASS #27/4 CANDLESTICK HOLDER, BLACK /SILVER BANDS
From our personal candlestick collection we are offering this L. E. Smith Glass Co. depression era#27/4 glass candleholder in black amethyst glass with silver band decoration. It was made in the early 1930's and sold by F. W. Woolworth Co. as part of a special listing. This stick is pictured in our 1974 edition of Hazel Marie Weatherman's"Colored Glassware of Depression Era 2" on page 322 and in the Felt and Stoers' Volume 3 of"The Glass Candlestick Book" on page 173. Height is 2 1/2" diameter is a little over 4" Condition is very good. It looks unused but we found traces of wax on the socket so we are calling it used. There is also a little age wear on the bottom. Gorgeous set of canisters that would look great in a retro kitchen. In a craft room to hold supplies. This set includes three canisters. The tallest measures 11" the medium measures 6 1/2" and the smallest measures 5" The tallest has nasty chips on the bottom edges of the lid, but the base is in very good condition no chips. The medium canister has a small chip on the bottom edge of the lid and a few flea bites, the bottom of the jar is in very good condition no chips. The smallest canister is in very good condition both lid and bottom no chips. The canisters are still very usable and beautiful. Great to add to a glass collection.
