Vintage 1992 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 with moons. Gorgeous 10 top!
Selling this incredible example of a vintage"pre-factory" 1992 Custom 24. 10 top. This guitar is in excellent condition, plays incredibly and sounds fantastic! It is all original as far as I know, it was purchased by me in 2003 from a reputable guitar shop in Seattle. Has had very little play time since then, is kept in its case at all times. This particular model is a solid body, curly maple top, mahogany back and neck, pearl and abalone moon inlays. The fingerboard is rosewood, 24 frets with plenty of meat left. 5 setting rotary switch gives you lots of tone variation. Really well built and great sounding guitars! It does have a couple minor dings on the headstock tips. from previous owners) I got a couple pics to show that, and a very minor scratch on the body side near the plug in. This is a very unique and beautiful Vintage/ANTIQUE Tinted and/or Charcoal Photo Portrait of an old man and a shepherd dog sitting by the side of the road. Possibly in or near Holdrege, Nebraska. The framed photo was originally found in a farm house attic in Holdrege. Nebraska. I wrote the following note to myself at the time because I was so intrigued by the wonderful photo and wanted to remember where I got it: I bought this at a sale on July 9. 1999 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The woman I bought it from said it came from the attic of a farm house in Holdrege, Nebraska where her parents had lived. It wasn’t her ancestor, but it was found in the attic. She had it for a number of years. It is a hand-tinted photograph of an old man and his shepherd dog. On the back was part of a death certificate, In Memoriam. And this might be a stretch. And I am in no way guaranteeing my findings, but I was curious to see if I could find a person named Nehemiah from Holdrege, Nebraska(playing History Detective here) so I recently searched the internet and found a Nehemiah Smith Strong who died in Wilcox. Nebraska in 1898. Born June 29, 1838 in Sullivan, New York, died September 21, 1898 in Wilcox, Nebraska, married to a Charlotte Strong, and was a soldier in the Civil War with General Grant) Wilcox, Nebraska is only 16 miles from Holdrege, Nebraska. However. We may never know who this man in the photo is, but I thought I might draw the attention of someone in Holdrege, Nebraska, where this photo came from. And regardless of it’s origin, it’s a very nice old photo in an elaborately decorated, antique frame. Kip Sophos custom 6 string fretless bass - Ken Smith hardware & exotic woods
I bought this wonderful and unique instrument in 2006. It was built by Kip Sophos of New York as one of his personal instruments. I bought the bass when Kip was trying to put together money for another build. The computer that had the original details has long since passed on. But I will try and remember what details I can. Ken Smith bridge. Pickups and tuners are used in the build. There were a number of figured exotic woods used in the build but I don’t have those details anymore, and I don’t know enough to tell by looking. There are flush fret markers but the instrument is fretless. My luthier was very impressed by the instrument and noted that he thought that it may have been fretted at one point and converted to fretless. He also noted that he especially appreciated the recesses for the puckups, that you could tell this was a hand madeand ... morenot a mass machined insrtrument, and that a lot of care and thought and time went into it. Think of this as a Ken Smith bass with a boutique twist. The Fodera case was an addition by me looking for something that would fit the shape of the instrument. Even with this case I had to add some foam cut to shape to allow the instrument to fit right. I also have a very nice 4” leather strap included made by Italia Leather Straps. This has been a studio instrument for me. But Kip seems to be quite active in the NY music scene and I’d have to guess that this bass saw the town in his hands. The quality hard shell case and leather strap are included. I have between 2 and 3 grand in the instrument and will be listing it in that area. But will be accepting offers. I just don’t see much time in the studio anymore and would like to minimize how much the loss will hurt. I have not had a bass amp in awhile so the battery for the pickups may need replaced. But I have the whole set this is why I know it is a Taylor Smith and Taylor item. The butter dish inside and out has no chips. The top outside and inside has no chips. The insides and bottom are light brown. The outside is a pale mustard color and the flowers are yellow and brown with two-tone green leaves.

Extra wide strap buttons have been installed on this guitar, but the original buttons come with it as well. Condition: This gorgeous gold top is in great shape! There's some small dings throughout. As well as some light scratches from normal use. The scratches on the top are primarily under the strings, and they're really hard to see against this gold top! The dings are mostly on the lower bout, around the edges, and for the most part they don't crack the finish(there are 2 dings which have cracked/chipped the finish on the top edge- see pics) The back looks good: a few light scratches which don't go through the finish and a white scuff mark or two(see pics) The neck has a few dings in it, the biggest of which are behind the 10th fret(see pics) but they don't get in the way of playability. This guitar plays very well, and none of the cosmetic issues take away from how great this gold top looks! There's a hint of fretwear on the frets, but no grooves, so there's plenty of life left in them. This guitar sounds great plugged into an amp, and once you do it becomes very hard to set
