Hi all. Up for sale is for a broken smith and Wesson SW40F. The problem is when the gun is fired the slide doesn't have enough pressure to blow the hammer back, so it does partially cycle. The magazine works flawlessly, no leaks or anything, those are worth $30 new. The paint has chipped on the mag but its metal and works perfect. Post War and the 50's is how the Smith Corona Company places this machine. It is working. K key does not lift but all others do. On the paper you can see that I typed my name(Teri) It is not dark looks like it needs a new ribbon. Has a floating shift. Key is with this as seen in the pictures. The bell is soft but working. Had forgot that sound. Hated it in school during time tests in typing class. lol. This is straight from an Estate Sale. As you can see in the pictures it does need a cleaning. Which might help the K key lift. S key and N key have twisted. This does have the case. It is in fair to good condition for the age. It is marked on the barrel Smith& Wesson Springfield Mis(or Ms-not sure) followed by 3 Pat. dates. I think they are Apr 7. 55 July 5, 59 and Dec 18, 80. Could this have been a salesman sample? It has a number stamped in the cast iron between the two wood pieces on the handle. That number is 14216. I have never seen anything quite like this and especially since it has Smith& Wesson on it. Free Shipping to Continental USA( Lower 48 States) This is a 10.5 inch reel of 2 Episodes of the Grand Ole Opry. The original owner of our studio(Rome Recording) in Columbus Ohio was named Jack Casey. He used to play on the Grand Ole Opry before he moved up here to open a recording studio. I'm not sure of why or how he obtained these recordings but these were found in our tape storage room. I can't be certain if these contain the whole show or just segments with the artists named on the labels. But with the length of the tape it seems logical that 2 episode would fit on each one. Probably recorded at 7 1/2 ips. and stored Tails out. We were able to cross check the dates with the actual show dates. The first episode date says 10-18-51 but it is in fact 10-13-51 and has Red Foley& Carl Smith. The Radio Gold Index Database# is 28153. ... moreThe second episode date is 1-29- 55 with Carl Smith and Moon Mulligan. The Radio Gold Index Database# is 90519. I cannot guarantee the condition of tape that is this old. However. Through the baking process tape can typically be restored enough to play the tape long enough to transfer off the contents. Regardless of the playability of the tape is still holds great historical value. I copied some information on the baking process: Tape Baking RESTORATION When baked. The tape will expand and become loose around the hub. For this reason, use flanges to protect the tape from coming apart. Cooking temperature is between 130°F and 140°F. Tapes wound on plastic reels with small hubs should be rewound onto large reels with NAB hubs. Be careful to thread the tape around the hub without any"folds. The goal is to minimize"mechanical distortions" that can be impressed upon subsequent layers causing dropouts. The"wind" must be smooth as if played!
