This offering is for a lot of 6 vintage Heddon casting rods. Two of which are 1-pc rods and 4 are 2-pc rods. From the bottom in the first picture we have(1) Heddon Pal 1-pc Mark IV#6305, 5 1/2' that is in great shape except that the eyelet just down from the tip is missing; 2) Heddon Pal 1-pc Mark IV#6305, 5 1/2' that doesn't have anything really wrong but it is dirty and shows some wear; 3) Heddon Pal 2-pc Mark IV#6905, 6' that is in real nice shape but the foil covering the butt tip is wrinkled but maybe that is to come off; 4) Heddon Stainless Wire Pal 2-pc#6743, 6' that shows use but is in good used condition; 5) Heddon Pal 2-pc Mark V#6919, 6 1/2' that shows it's use but is complete and I would guess very fishable; 6) Heddon Pal 2-pc Mark IV#6906, 6 1/2' that is closer to 6' so the tip has been replaced ... moreand the tip section has been repaired above the base eyelet on the tip section. CIRCA: 1957: I have never seen anything like this hand crafted, finally detailed tin or sheet metal model in my life, so I am at a loss for words as to what to actually call this item! Is this item a hand made model of a 1957 two cylinder motorcycle? Is this piece actually representative of an example of industrial or motorized vehicle art? Should this handmade motorcycle model be classified as an outstanding example of American Folk Art? At an estate auction that featured a very large collection of very old cast iron trucks, tractors, old style racing cars, etc. this motorcycle was offered up for sale as a toy. I have no idea what classification this motorcylce may fall under, but I KNOW it is NOT a TOY! There isn't a single identifier on ... morethis motorcycle. This item was made completely out of tin or thin sheet metal and painted by hand with a brush. This piece IS a work of art, crafted in metal. I am no authority on soldering or various methods of"welding" two pieces of steel metal together, but such techniques were used to put this motorcycle together. The wire spoked wheels are hand made. The tires have to be handmade, too. I thought the tires might have been made out of steel tubing and painted black, with wide cream colored sidewalls, but I can't find a weld or solder seam on the tires! Bright orange rods and multi-color round beads link together in a gold-tone-wired necklace. Measures about 23" long. This is some sort of plastic/acrylic/Lucite. The beads are about 7/16" diameter and the rods are 15/16" long each. The clasp is the same color as the orange rods and it has a tight grip upon closure. Marked JAPAN.
