Miller CP-252TS CV DC Welder Welding for wire feeder mig arc Up for sale we have a Miller CP-252TS CV DC Welding Power Source in working condition. It is rated at 250 welding amps and runs on 220V. 3 phase. It can be wired to operate on 460V or 230V. 3 Phase too. It can be used to weld with wire feeders. Arc, and mig welding. We did an arc test with a by stick welding. You have to jump pin A and B on RC8 Pin connector to stick weld. Otherwise it will not work. This unit comes with a top mount plate for accessories and hooks to hang welding leads. It also comes with a 30 ft negative welding clamp lead. Metco Fusebond metallizer like arc stick welder
I bought this beast because I thought it was a stick welder. It isn't. It's a close relative. A metallizer. I'm not an expert, but from what I've been able to learn it's used much like MIG welder, but with special electrodes that lay down a thin, wide layer on the surface. The printed label mentions a"brush" and you can see that the electrode holder has a rectangular slot; I'm guessing the electrode is something like a wire brush that is dragged along in contact with the work. It is used for such things as building up worn machine surfaces and restoring plating. Specs: input is 110V@ 29A or 220V@ 18A. Output maximum of 9V@ 345A. And that's why it won't work as an arc welder- 9 volts just isn't enough to sustain the arc. I have powered it up and attempted to weld with it. So I can say that all ... morethe transformer taps are good and it does put out a lot of current- just not at enough voltage to actually make an arc. It'll sure heat up the whole length of a 1/8" rod though! The power cord with 50A plug. Ground cable and electrode holder and cable are included. The shielding gas hose is also included, but the tank and regulator are not. The insulation is all in good condition with some scuffing, but no cracks or missing chunks. Dimensions: 14x17x24" tall including the casters. The unit weighs 130 lbs. And the handpiece and cables add about another 20 lbs. Local pickup is highly recommended. But if you insist I can drop it off at a shipping depot in St. Louis for you. Palletizing/crating and moving it from here to you are between you and the shipper. I get out 100 miles or so West with some regularity. So if you're west of St. Louis as far as Jefferson City or Columbia we can work something out for a modest cost.
