The necklace when measured is aprox. 14 3/4" including the findings) The actual design(the leaves and the pendant measure aprox. 3 1/2" of that 14 3/4" The earrings measure aprox. 1" long x 1/2" wide. They have screw on backs. The ring is marked c meo sterling inside. Unsure of the ring size but would'guess' it to be between a 7 and 8. ~The piece of hematite is a bit loose. The prongs are all there. They just need to be tightened up.~ What a rare find. a whole set' a Douglas E. Curtis design by Curtis Mfg. This origional photogravure is an origional PORTFOLIO print from the epic undertaking by famed photographer Edward S. Curitis titled" The North American Indian" P ublished as a limited edition book. Origionally intended to have 500 printed copies. There were, in the end, somewhere between 220-270 printed editions. This was an effort by Curtis to permanetly record the life of the North American Indians. Most of the origional volumes are still bound in books but are very rare to find offered for sale. The last complete set sold in 2012 for $1.44 millon dollars. A PORTFOLIO of around thirty large. Unbound plates was produced to complement each volume. Each includes a sheet of captions entitled"List of large plates supplementing volume. Apparently Curtis and his staff selected the most artistic views to be reproduced as the portfolio ... moreprints. Which averaged 11 x 14 inches on large sheets. This is a very unique. Hard paperback framed, 13 x 17-1/2, Zuni Governor. by Edward S. Curtis, 1905. It was photographically reprinted in 1977 by Jean Anthony Du Lac, from a negative derived from the copperplate gravure. There is no other paperwork with this photo. It states on the back that there is but there is none. The frame is a little warped and the photo is slightly bubbled at the bottom left corner. Coming home from war? The text in the ad is as follows: Young Steve Curtis helps build army airfields instead of Studebaker cars But he is still a proud member of a Studebaker father-and-son team. Sergeant Stephen A. Curtis. Jr. hung up his Studebaker working clothes and donned an army uniform, a little more than a month after Pearl Harbor. All six of the Curtis photogravures now listed have been in the same family for the last 50 years. The Biography Follows: Born in 1868 near Whitewater. Wisconsin, Edward Sheriff Curtis became one of America's finest photographers and ethnologists. Beginning in 1896 and ending in 1930, Curtis photographed and documented every major Native American tribe west ... moreof the Mississippi, taking over 40,000 negatives of eighty tribes. For thirty years, he devoted his life to an odyssey of photographing and documenting the lives and traditions of the Native people of North America. His photographs had an immense impact on the national imagination and continue to shape the way we see Native life and culture. Edward's father. Reverend Johnson Curtis, had returned from the Civil War penniless and debilitated, and young Curtis and his three siblings grew up in poverty. The family moved to Cordova, Minnesota soon after his birth, where his father continued his vocation as an itinerant preacher. Edward Curtis grew up near the Chippewa, Menomini, and Winnebago tribes, although most traditional Indian life there had disappeared by the time his family arrived in the 1870s. His formal education ended with the sixth grade. Curtis often accompanied his father on long treks, often by canoe, to visit his far-flung congregation, and these journeys may have been the inception of his love of the outdoors. R.C. Hickman Black History Photo Set With Curtis Cokes Description: R.C. Hickman Black History Photo Set Curtis Cokes. Set of four photos on one sheet. I only have information of the bottom left which is a photo taken in Mr. Hickman's office. Curtis Cokes was signing a contract with David Shaw for his new Arena club while his promoter and club manager looked on in 1968. Top right photo is of a theater. Below it is a group of decorated men holding awards and medals, in the top left corner it shows a photo of a couple at a dance or special event. As Congresswoman Barbara Jones wrote of Hickman's work" These are images of the ordinary lives of extraordinary people who succeeded in spite of all the obstacles in their path. And who eventually demanded, in important ways, won their rights. R.C. Hickman's photographs are important ... moredocuments that capture a significant moment twentieth-century American life. R.C. Hickman was born in the small East Texas town of Mineola. Texas, in 1922. During the Great Depression, the young R.C. moved with his father and brother to Dallas, Texas to earn money for his family. Hickman attended Austin's Tillotson College until the onset of World War II. His interest in photography developed during the war, and he soon earned credentials to become an official army photographer. After the war's end, he returned to Dallas and began a professional career as a photographer at the Dallas Star Post and completed freelance work for Jet magazine. Hickman also visually documented unequal school conditions for the NAACP, where his work often led him into dangerous conditions during the fight to end segregation. Mr. Hickman resided in Dallas until his death in 2007. Through his photographs he lives on. Photo Measures 10" x 8 1/8"

This is a large enameled copper plate made by Artisan House Enamels. The Curtis Jere Studios, circa 1975. It's hand-enameled in black and gold over a field of red enamel. Seems to depict maple leaves in a mid-century look pattern. Measures 15" in diameter. 1.75" deep, with bottom lined with a large cork pad. Includes original gold paper sticker with maker's name. Condition is excelent. No cracks, bends, dents, scratches of any kind. This plate has a small welded-in loop on back for hanging on the wall as art, or else you can just put it on a table. If you have an interest in the Civil War, Confederate or Union, The Iron Brigade, or Michigan Civil War History, this book belongs in your collection.
