This is a great antique Indian Trade Knife. 5" blade with a 4" handle. 1700 or 1800's. I do not know for sure. Blade is very heavy and thick, 1/8" thick, 1 3/8" wide, 5" long. Great old finish and patina, except edge of blade was lightly sharpened. The handle is 4" bone/horn with one metal pin through middle and nice metal cap on end. He is listed in the 1902. 1903, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1918, 1919 Buffalo City Directories as Saloon- 28 Grape(street) In 1920, he is still listed at 28 Grape, but what do you know? Prohibition put him out of the saloon business. His son Frederick is shown operating a soft drink establishment at that address.
