This reel is in great shape and has only minor blemishes. Does not appear to have gotten very much use. The most significant blemish is a ding on the outside of the spool(see photos. It is in great working order. We don't know a lot about this series of reels but have done some research. The reel was made in Argentina- probably in the 80's. It has a click and pawl drag with an adjustment knob. It is a sturdy reel that would be good for trout or larger species of fish. We have read that it is designated for use with 7/8/9 weight lines. Has some of the normal age and use related flaking, and from the old grinding process. The front of the jar is embossed with TRADE MARK LIGHTNING. The base of the jar is embossed with PUTNAM 250. The metal bale has the normal rust associated with the age of the jar. But to me looks solid. The lid is in good condition, I see no chips, and is embossed on the top of the lid with PATD APR 25 92- PATD JAN 5 75- RESD JUNE 5 77. I see no open bubbles on the outside of the jar. I see 1 shallow open bubble on the inside of jar, on the inside of the jar and just below where the lid rests on the, to me no issue, just mention for accuracy. It features extensive enamel painted decoration including the symbols for five distinctive guilds. It appears to read" Kurfurstenhumpen Deckelhumpen REICHSADLERHUMPEN" with the names Hanß Bruchman Michel Biltcher and Hanß(F)ondman" Writing on the rear has not been translated. It measures 17" tall and 6.75" across. And the beaker alone without top measure 13" tall. Condition of the enamel decoration is good with modest losses. RARE Antique German-made Bolstered Carbon Steel Green River Trade Knife w/Sheath
This is just a rare and beautiful knife in an equally beautiful sheath. Stamped on its blade only with a ship's wheel logo and"SOLINGEN. I don't recognize this maker's mark but it's obviously German, made as a beautiful copy of an old Russell Green River Works design. Hand-forged with a superior carbon steel blade that was made in a classic drop-point profle, it's sturdy enough to be carried into the field as a hunting knife. Handle is jacaranda wood hafted over a full and tapered tang using four steel pins and a clad-steel bolster to reinforce this critical juncture where blade meets handle. The thick cowhide sheath is not original(doubtful this knife ever had a sheath when it left the factory) but is one I had custom made for the knife, intending, originally, to use it in the field; it fits the knife like the proverbial ... moreglove. To say the least, this sheath is of VERY nice quality with a decidedly Native American flavor. The photos make the knife and sheath look pretty good but in person they're even nicer. Condition is nothing short of superb. With no problems of any kind. This knife measures 10" long with a 5-7/8" blade but by any measure it is an heirloom-quality piece in heirloom-quality condition and something that will instantly take center stage in even the best collection. In 1933 he went to Jamaica. W.I. married, and had one son. He returned to the United States in 1938 to exhibit after painting murals, doing advertising for the rum industry, and designing stores, nightclubs, and theaters in Jamaica. After completion of pilot training in the military. Mr. Pike served in the Psychological Warfare Branch in Egypt and Italy. Then he was shipped to the Philippines where he transferred to the Combat Art Section, Corps of Engineers, as head of the unit given the job of recording U.S. occupation of Korea in 1945. Description Anillo restrikes are uniface aluminum restrikes of tokens and medals. Made by Anillo Industries of Orange. Calif. in 1968. Anillo Industries had bought out all the dies of the Los Angeles Stamp and Stationery Co. formerly the Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co. and planned to go into the token and medal making business. So. They took about 3,500 of the old dies and struck 25 sets of uniface tokens which they planned to mount in salesmen sample books. Only four books were made up. A nice collector's item.
