1973 DOD Electronics Prototype Vintage Tube Amplifier serial #1 - Free Shipping!
This is a rare prototype 100 watt tube amplifier from approximately 1973. It was built point-to-point by David Oreste Di Francesco(now of Rolls Corporation) in his house when he was starting DOD Electronics(which eventually became Digitech) He was still deciding if he wanted to build amps and eventually chose to focus mainly on pedals(such as the tank-like and great sounding Green Preamps and Yellow Overdrives) From his recollection it was based on the Marshall circuit and used a Fender output transformer and a power transformer from an old television. It is labeled with serial number 00001 and is one-of-a-kind. It works without issue and sounds like a blend of Marshall and Fender Tweed Deluxe. Very touch responsive and dynamic. It takes four EL34 and four 12AX7 tubes. It has controls for Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence, four inputs, two ... morechannels(Normal" Bright" and a master volume. This kit was made in 1997 when Premier was still English owned and their craftsmanship and"Diamond" chrome were truly second to none. Anyone with any knowledge of the Signia line knows just how amazing these drums really are. The Signia series was Premier's top of the line drum, and offered rich warm sounding all maple shells that were 3mm undersized, as well reinforcement rings made of Beech for an unbelievable tone that was uniquely assigned to the Signia line alone. With the popularity of the"new" Terraverdi Green color that was offered only on the Genista line ... moreat the time, per customer request, Premier decided to do a very limited run of Terraverdi Green Signia shells, a color that was not originally offered in the Signia line of drums, which makes Terraverdi Green Signia's all the more rare and hard to find, especially in this condition. This kit is in awesome condition for being 17 years old. Yes. There are a few minor knicks which I will explain, but the chrome is still amazing looking and is not pitted. The badges are in great shape with no dings or pits. The kick drum has two knicks on it(one the size of your thumbnail, and can be seen in the very last photo on the left side of the kick drum where the reflection of the tube lug is, and one as small as the size of a pencil eraser on the right side of the kick drum just to the left of the tube lug reflection) Both of them do not affect the sound and do not even go down as far as the green stain. There are a couple of small knicks on the 16" tom, but all are VERY MINIMAL. This kit would easily rate a solid 9 on a scale of 1-10.
