Make: USGI M1 Steel Helmet Model/ Type/ Description: Up for auction is a USGI steel pot helmet with chin strap. And helmet liner. All components fit and function accordingly with this model of helmet. The helmet itself has a war time marking of"235C" and has a'FRONT helmet seam' that is indicative of war time production helmets. The helmet liner is missing the retaining strap that goes on the outside of the helmet, however the liner stays in place well with the helmet cover providing a secure and positive amount of tension. This helmet has war time production bails(chin strap retaining bars) and what appears to be the original chin strap. The helmet liner has similarly aged leather and canvas components leading us to believe that this insert was for this helmet. The inside of the liner is marked"26*CIRCLED"W" ... moreover an*OVAL* All of the markings and characteristics of this helmet lead us to believe that it was produced between 1941 and 1944, before major changes were made to this model of helmet. Condition: This authentic piece of United States military history functions as a whole. But as mentioned, is missing some items. The leather on the helmet liner is cracked and has some loss. The canvas is in good shape throughout, with some darkening and dirt from the ages. The steel pot has some dents and missing paint along the rim. You are bidding on a Swedish Army WWII World War 2 WW2 Sweden M21-18 Steel Soldiers Helmet I believe with the research I have done that this is a Swedish M 21-18 Steel Helmet. This helmet design is very much like the 21-16 but the brim is less wide and the slight crest is less evident. There is a metal emblem showing the Three Swedish Crowns on the front of the helmet. There are also decals/crests on either side of this helmet showing the Three Swedish Crowns. These decals show some signs of wear as seen in the photos. This Swedish helmet model was most likely created in the 1920's and used throughout WWII. It was later replaced with the M26 helmet which was a simplified version of the M21. The helmet features two decals of the Swedish crest on the left and right sides. There is also a metal version of the crest on the front of the helmet. ... moreThis helmet is painted olive green and the paint is scuffed. Scratched and chipped. The leather liner has begun to dry and is cracking at the edges and chin-strap show wear and some cracking but is in intact condition. Overall. This item features two correct-to-period(and authentic) triple crown logo of the Swedish forces. The head liner can be adjusted to fit heads between 57 and 61mm(as the material is stamped"57-61" The overall dimensions of this helmet are 10-1/8" long. 9.5" wide, and 6-3/4" tall. Condition: The helmet shell is in used. But overall"Excellent" condition. There are no major losses, cracks, dents, dings, or areas of corrosion. I am selling this antique farm cutting tool probably made to cut baler twine. The handle measures 9" long with a 2" steel blade which is triangular in shape. A leather wrist strap measures about 14" tied through a hole in the wooden handle and tied in a knot. The blade is attached with nails. The blade is made from a sickle section. No Rust! No markings that we could see inside or outside of helmet. The back pin has a couple letters/numbers on it. There are no insignias. However must have had them on both sides at one time, since lightly"pebbled' surface is smooth on either side where insignia would have been. See pictures of this. Makes for a great display piece. New York City Subway Car Strap M ade for standees to hold on to. Was bolted to the ceiling. The original 2 nd Ave. 3 rd Ave. 6 th& 9 th Ave elevated cars from the late 1800's through the early 1900's had swinging leather straps for this purpose. Hence the name. When the IRT opened in 1904. The subway cars had porcelain handles. When the new Redbird cars came on line in the 1950's. These straps like the one pictured, were made of non-magnetic stainless steel. The length is 18" This strap was in use at the time of the 9/11 tragedy. It is the last of straps as they have been replaced in the new cars with a single bar. Old and in excellent condition.
