Pin dish- Austrian vintage to antique white blue floral 6 inch sponge gold. Around the turn of the century(the last one.1890s or so) A lot of teeny tiny dishes were made for the aristocracy, some had a definite use, like fish plates and salt cellars, but others were just-for-pretty. This six inch long pin dish was made around then; it has fluted scalloped rim, with raised design and sponge gold. Inside the dish is a flower decal, greenery and tiny blue blossoms abound. The raised design inside is ribbed, fluted and almost featherlike, indicative of the times. It is marked, however it's one of those smeared, illegible blue marks- in all likelihood it is Carlsbad, Austria but since I can't tell it from the mark, take it as an educated guess. The dish is 2 1/2 inches wide at the center and would have been used for knick-knacks, hairpins, ... morepossible hatpins(although there were holders specifically for those) even a stray button or two. It is white porcelain and in Very Good condition- has been in my collection for only 10-15 years. I would say its had very little usage as those decals wore off from decades of dropping metal objects(pins etc) in and picking them up, which usually scraped the decal a bit. ANT/VTG PRE 1938 USA DOLLY TOY PUTZ HOUSE LOOFAH SPONGE TREE MICA SNOW FINISH Hi. Welcome back, Nice smaller size Dolly Toy Co. house clearly marked on the bottom Tippecanoe City Ohio which dates it to pre 1938 when the name was changed to Tipp City. This house is 4 5/8" X 3 1/4" X 3 3/4" tall. The base has black glitter added to the mica snow. This house must have gotten wet at one time, the corner hinges are rusty and some of the mica snow finish is off. It may have been reglued, house to base, at some point, lots of cracking along the base line. Loofah sponge tree is very flat to house but looks to be originally that way. Some damage to both sides of the front of the roof, right side is bent in and bit of the cardboard separating at the peak. Windows and door are good, no rips. Nothing in the upper window but don't think ... morethere ever was? Openings on both sides where the peaked roof in the front meets the other roof.
