This auction is for DX 300 Realistic by Radio Shack Vintage Radio Receiver in amazingly nice condition. Its like it has been in a time warp. Please look carefully at the photos as they are part of the description. I hooked it up to a long wire antenna and heard talking on practically every frequency on the ham bands. This radio has numerous features/ coverage/ bands which can easily be investigated by searching on google. Great working condition the meters work as they should. And the red digital display works as it should, also the tuning knob(top left) displays a single red led. This function seems to work as a built in antenna tuner, at least that was my impression. I guess I could have read the manual, LOL. I tested all the knobs and function could not find anything wrong. I am the second owner of this unit. This unit looks and sounds fabulous. All functions have been tested. It is the US Military Model. It was recently inspected and the tone control lamps and stereo lamp were found to be burnt out and all three bulbs have been replaced with LED bulbs which are indistinguishable from the original bulbs in light output. I have been listening to it for the past week to verify operation and it is flawless. The phono section sound is very nice. I have not tested the MC Phono input but the MM input sounds fantastic. The MC works and outputs sound but I have no MC cartridge to test with. I would imagine it sounds fantastic as well. The tuner section is absolutely wonderful and memory. Muting and scan all function properly. There are no issues with this unit however it does not include the shorting bars for the preamp ... moreinputs. Since the amplifier section can be driven separately from the preamplifier it is necessary to jumper the preamp outputs into the amplifier input. This is by design. You can use a standard patch cable or just purchase or fashion your own shorting bars. As a stand alone amplifier it sounds amazing. Cosmetically there is a light scratch that is on the top front of the unit and other small scratches that can be seen in the pictures. The faceplate looks very nice.
