A vintage Zenith SPTE-3 Television Sweep Alignment Signal/Marker generator for TV-IF amplifier alignment. Signal tracing, and UHF tuner alignment, that has been modified for C-band, 3700- 4200 Mhz. It powers ON, tubes light up, voltages seem normal. I am not able to check beyond that. Some controls have been changed, labels added for the new purpose. You can see that a microwave down converter has been added, Satellite Technology Services DC-B, with the 3700 to 4200 Mhz output coming from a cable out of the front. A jack has been added where the centering control used to be to input 950-1450 Mhz. New crystals have been installed for markers. I bought it, thinking I could use it for alignment on a UHF TV transmitter. Didn't work out. The Eico 369 TV-FM sweep& post marker generator was purchased to do a few alignment jobs approx. 2 months ago. I was amazed how clean and how accurate the unit is. I cleaned all the controls& switches. Calibrated to a test piece I assembled, tested all the vacuum tubes with my Hickock dynamic tube tester. It is in really good shape& accurate. It is supplied with 2 scope probes& a scope input cable that I made up for BNC scope inputs. I also made up a calibration circuit that is included.not to mention the operation manual in paperback. The B&K 415 generates markers for scope alignment of TV sets. Plus the other signals required to get your vintage TV performing at its best. If you are reading this I probably don't have to tell you more about what this does(please see the photo of the controls and outputs on the front panel) This 415 is serial number A-20248. Made in the USA in the early 1970's. It comes with a copy of the manual(including schematic) and an original quick set-up manual(photo 4) It also comes with all the specialized B&K probes and cables(some banana jack to banana jack bias cables are missing) It is in excellent cosmetic condition, except that the handle of the 44 MHz ... moreslide switch is broken off. The switch can still be moved, but you have to use a small screwdriver to slide the switch. When last used two years ago this signal generator was working fine. But I did not fully test it before listing. It does power up(photo 2) and marker lights illuminate when their switches are turned on. It would probably be a good idea to replace the power supply filter capacitors given their age. I have been collecting and restoring antique electronics for more than 30 years. I have a Knight KG-687 Sweep Marker Generator. Solid state and in good physical condition with the full case. I am not sure how to use it. There are two wide range oscillators. One for sweep and one for marker. Sweep freq. range is 3- 220 MHz. Marker range is 2- 225 MHz. Scope photos show both oscillator signals with both dials set to 10 MHz. Sweep output frequency is 10.3 MHz. Marker freq was very close to 10 MHz. Not sure how to use it any further than tests I made thus I must sell AS- IS.
