The shipping prices eBay provides may not be correct For sale here is a Leader RF signal generator. The output frequency can be set using thumb-wheel switches anywhere between 25 and 900 MHz in 10 kHz steps. Or at least that is the idea. This one does not co-operate. It looks like the thumb-wheel switches themselves are worn out. The most significant one. The one that sets the output frequency in 100 MHz steps, works most of the time. By fiddling with it all of the frequencies in 100 MHz intervals can be selected. The other switches are worse. By playing ... morewith them various frequencies can be selected but most of the time they remain set at 0. Since it works over the full frequency range I don't think the frequency selection logic is faulty, but I have not checked this. Whatever frequency is selected is shown accurately on the display and the output is pretty close to this. The"Unlocked" light never comes on and the selected frequency remains stable. The output attenuation and the amplitude modulation work fine. There is a ROM cartridge fitted but no ROM is in the socket. Consequently none of the channel selection and sweep facilities will function. A couple of the display segments are a little dim but this does not effect operation in any way. The display is much better than it looks in the picture. Where it is washed out due to the camera flash. The case is scratched but the front panel is fine. Had this in the loft for many years intending to fix it and keep it. Too many other things to do so I'm starting this auction at 99p with no reserve. Terms and Conditions. I bought this Signal Generator to help my do an alignment on an older Kenwood TS-520 ham transceiver. With the idea that I would like to do a few other radio's that I have accumulated over the years. I hooked up a frequency counter in series with the generator so I could more accurately dial the frequency in, but it's probably not necessary. The unit is stable enough for the kind of work I was doing, but as it happened, there was a local electronic firm going out of business that was selling a lot of their equipment, including signal generators. I found a rather high end unit for a very good price and even though it's probably more then I'll ever need I bought it anyway. I cannot use this unit, and so up on Ebay it goes. If you're in the market for a very nice signal generator at a decent price this is probably the unit ... morefor you. There are the normal scratches and marks that equipment gets from normal use, but I'd say this thing is in very good condition. All I can tell you is I personally only used it once to align the Kenwood transceiver. I haven't even used the new signal generator that I purchased last summer yet: So there you have it. It is used, but I guarantee it to arrive in working condition. A signal generator should be part of every aspiring tech's basic test equipment.
