This is a used HP 8660C RF Signal Generator for parts. This unit partially functions. But caused a known good RF module to keep dropping out. I have used the side panels and the Manual Tuning switch& Tuning RPG to replace ones on a good unit that got broken in shipping. The right handle on this unit is completely broken off. The left handle is broken at the top. This was the shipping damage to the original good unit. The keyboard of this unit appears to function properly and the frequencies can be selected as shown in the first three pictures. I have not performed any troubleshooting on this unit since it was intended to be used only for replacement parts, however, my guess would be that the 11661 Frequency Extension Module is causing the dropouts. Available for sale is an HP 8640B signal tracer. Serial number 2546A27803. This unit does not appear to have any options installed. Click here for a PDF spec sheet for the 8640B. This unit was acquired from a ham radio operator who also repaired older equipment. Due to a nasty divorce. He was forced to sell a majority of his equipment. He stated that this unit was in working condition. I have powered it up, and everything seems responsive. The display did seem a little finicky at times. However, I do not have the knowledge to test this any further than powering it up. With this in mind, it is being sold as-is. It may work fine as the gentleman suggests, or it may need some level of maintenance/calibration. While I cannot test the unit.
