Offered for sale is a.800 silver tennis trophy dating to the first years of the 1900s. Marked on its base 800. Half Moon, Crown, Standing Lion. This could be Gebruder Deyhle or E.L. Vietor. This could have been made by either silversmith in Germany, since their marks are so similar, it is hard to tell. Cup is a 10 sided stemmed goblet which is 8 1/16" ths tall. Engraved on front: Montreaux Lawn Tennis Club 1915 Mixed Doubles presented by Comte de Urribarren won by Miss Willard Mr. Hurt. Montreaux is in Switzerland on Lake Geneva. Comte de Urribarren information on line states he was a wealthy Spaniard. That was influential in Polo and helped design the Paris Polo Fields. Copyright 2002, by Robert T. Everitt on bottom of page 164(see 2nd photo above) In 2002 it's estimated value was $300 to $450. An 1890s racket. Probably named after the Victorian gentlemen's sporting newspaper of the time, ceased publication in 1895. Original stringing, but 12 verticals are broken along the top of the frame. There are 4 rows of red gut trebling at the top of the frame and 5 rows near the wedge. The racket has maintained its glossy finish after all these years with remarkably few imperfections for its age. The cushions are o.k. I've pointed out where some of the seams are coming apart, but overall they are good. The fabric is not an outside fabric as it was kept on a covered porch. CHILD'S Deck-Beach-Lawn-Lounge-Patio-Sling Canvas Wood Folding Chair-VTG-ANTIQUE
This is an unusual find. This little child's deck chair is really quaint. Original wood finish. When it's folded flat it measures about 22 inches by 14 inches and 1 inch thick. And. When it's folded out the top bar is just over 18 inches from the ground and it has one position. Some of the joints are pegged and and some bolted. I took photos with different backgrounds so that the chair could be seen in different settings. Notice the faint design coming through the off white canvas in photos 4 and 5. This is the original canvas which is shown in photo#10. The previous owner covered the original canvas with a second material like the ticking that was used on old pillows and secured the two materials with safety pins. It looks like the ticking material can be removed. I did not remove all of the pins because I wasn't sure that ... moreI could get it all back again so the safety pin that you see in photo#10 is the one that holds the other material on the back. I bought this at a re-sale shop in The Netherlands(Holland) about 2003. It is a great 15 1/2 inch round No Dogs Allowed Metal Road Street Lawn Sign with a little Scotty dog on it. I bought it for my kitchen. Because my sisters dog was always stealing food. But now I have a dog too LOL. It is heavy metal. weighs about 3 1/2 pounds, four in a box. There are scratches etc indicative of use and in picture four you can see some kind of paint degradation or scratching. Awesome vintage MID CENTURY MODERN half Barrel Childs Lawn Chair. Condition is good with NOTHING broken. NOTHING ripped or torn. Has a wonderful green stripe with a tanish background. Chair is a total of 20 inches tall. The seat is 10 1/2 tall. and measures 20 inches across. Made out of plastic wicker.
