Up for sale is a Fin-Nor 20-30lb 5'8 fishing rod with Aftco roller guides and Aftco removable unibutt. This rod is a rare find. Purchased for $379. The reel seat area is gold anodized and the rod is wrapped in black and gold. The rod uses an e-glass blank. It is in excellent condition but does have some minor cosmetic blems(from being on a boat) Very minor, nothing that would effect the rod strength in any way. The foam has an area where it looks like a hook had snagged(please see attached picture) All in all this is a very nice looking and quality fishing rod that is a great buy. I am not sure if the rod itself is a Tycoon FinNor because I can't find any markings saying so. Just beyond the wrapping is the word"Bravo" on the rod. The rod stands at 6'10" in length. Has 5 Tycoon FinNor Miami roller guides in good shape, and Aftco roller top. The rod butt is an Aftco aluminum butt, stainless steel reel seat, and a foregrip that measures 9 inches and is made of a cloth fur material. It looks to me like the rod is rated from 80-130 LB test. It is a true big game rod, and heavy duty. It has green/yellow wrapping underneath the flexcoat. The rod overall is in good condition for its vintage age. This rod has 5 AFTCO roller guides and an AFTCO roller tip. It is made by Premier. I do not know what the blank is. It could be Calstar. Seeker, Sabre or Penn. I have tested it and it can hold up to ANYTHING! It has GREAT action and it looks HOT! The gold anodized reel seat really sets it up beautifully. The seat is meaty so a small real with rod clamps will not fit on this stick. An Penn International 16 does not fit. My 30's, 50's, and 70's work great! I have a set of 4. Early"CUSTOM" FIBERGLASS BIG GAME FISH ROD of approx. 72" OAL, probably dating to back in the late 1960s/70s era and still in very good overall condition for display or angling use, consisting of a solid U.S. made fiberglass Rod with clear-coat exterior finish, out-fitted with four(4) early style, chromed brass roller& ring guides, all solidly affixed with"root beer" color nylon wraps with gold accents, and with HD fiberglass Rod running right thru the old school fore grip(HD cord-wrapped over the cork-rings) and thru the classic style, chromed brass reel seat, and directly into the Oak hardwood butt section with oldie rubber"snub" base as shown. Vintage Custom Big Game Rod w/ Aluminum Tycoon Fin-Nor Miami Roller Guides RARE
This is a Rare Vintage find from a Key West. Florida estate sale. This is the second of two identical rods I acquired. The first rod I sold on eBay already. It is a Vintage Heavy Big Game Trolling Rod that was custom built by Beach Bait& Tackle Shop in Ft. Lauderdale. Florida. The rod has 5 Vintage Tycoon Fin-Nor Miami Aluminum Roller Guides. The rod is in very good condition considering its age. The Tycoon Fin-Nor Guides are in very good condition and numbered underneath in sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The Roller Top Guide is an AFTCO size 26. The guides are all silver in color, and the rollers all roll cleanly. This Big Game rod is 6'11" in length. And has an Aluminum Butt with Gimbal, and Aluminum Reel Seat. I believe the Aluminum Butt is detachable, but I am not sure. It looks like it is, but I cannot remove it, and I don't ... morewant to force it. The foregrip is, i believe, cork and covered with a fuzzy blue material. There is a small chipping section on the top of this foregrip near the reel seat, allowing me to see, what I believe to be cork underneath. Also, a small chipping section of foregrip on the top near where the rod begins. The flexcoat is in good condition. I would rate this rod in the 80- 130 LB class. SABRE STROKER BIG GAME ROD - ALL AFTCO ROLLER GUIDES - TAKE DOWN HANDLE - BEAUTY
I got this at an estate sale and just passing it along. The rod is used but looks to have been hardly fished as there is no rash at all. Guaranteed. Even the Aftco roller guides look new. The total length of the rod is 7' 4" with the handle section at 20" 7 total Roller guides including the tip and there are no issues with either the guides or wraps. I tried to locate the poundage etc but none are on the rod. I asked the gentleman at the sale about the rod and he told me that it was given as a present several years ago and has since been in the garage. He thought it was rated for 80-150 pound line but was sort of unsure. Either way it's a beauty and if not 100% happy then send it back for a full refund. Thanks for looking and tight lines to all.
