Vintage Mannequin Head Mourning Small Child Size Face
This auction offers an interesting vintage mannequin head. It's a small maniquin head measuring 16" high x 6" wide x 5" deep. Child-size face and facial features. Hollow inside so it's not very heavy. It is decorated in black velvet and lace and looks very much like a mannequin in mourning. Appears hand-painted and the eyes. Eyelashes, eyebrows and lips are hand-drawn. It does not appear to be professionally made. We suspect that it was made in the late 1940s by Sorcha Brodsky. Miss Brodsky was a local fashionista and her facination with clothes began in her teens in the 1940s. She competed in numerous art shows and many of her artworks featured clothing designs. I did not try to clean the face or do any touch ups so you will see light mars on the tip of the nose and edge of the lips. Wire Brush, Wig Net in Box This is a pre-owned set. In clean, good condition. No tears, stains, odors, etc. There are no maker markings or date. The wig has a tag that says it is 100% synthetic, non flammable fiber origin from Japan, wig made in Korea. It is in very good condition and is a dark blond or light brown color. Color is hard to define exactly due to variations from camera, lighting, setting, computer display, etc. Actual color may be different than pictured, but I tried to adjust the settings to capture the closest image. Also, keep in mind that the mannequin head and face shapes may differ from your own and may not be compatible with the ... morestyle. However, it can be styled to your preference. The mannequin is Styrofoam and has a plastic base that is glued to a cardboard section in the same pattern as the top and bottom cardboard parts of the box. There is a patent number under the base of the stand, but no maker marking. The sides of the box are of a transparent, flexible plastic. The pattern on the box looks like a 1950’s style and this and the wig may or may not have originally been sold together. Vintage canvas and cork mannequin head - size 22 for theater / cosmetology
Light staining and discoloration typical of a vintage mannequin head. Including a few very small spots of rusting where pins were inserted. The fabric slightly stretched in some places, but the cork is very solid and the mannequin is totally functional. This mannequin head has a special oblong base which is larger than most mannequin heads. Making it much more stable when placed on a work surface. Stamped size"22" One small ink"star" on the left. Great to have as an extra wig or hat stand or for cosmetology students!

This is a great looking 3/4 female mannequin. The measurements are as follows: 31" x 24" x 34" It is 46" from top to bottom and 11" across the shoulders and 24" from waist to knee. It does have some finish issues( see photos) but I believe it could be painted. This mannequin disconnects at the waist by twisting and unlocking it and at the right leg also. So this form can be dressed top to bottom. The arms also unlock and can be removed or be placed in 2 different positions.
