This vintage set was purchased from the maker on the Zuni reservation in the 4 corners part of the SouthWest a few decades ago. Back then. Jewelry vendors would spread blankets by the roadside and sell handmade necklaces and earrings and bracelets to tourists. They were quite a bit less expensive than the jewelry shops in Phoenix or Taos. I had the good fortune of buying a handful of necklaces and earrings on one of my many road trips in the 1970s and 1980s. This is part of what I bought-and I never wore them-they have been in a box for over 25+ years.slowly being moved down in the drawer where I keep my jewelry. Now I'm clearing out lots of jewelry from road trip days and hoping someone else can enjoy them. This necklace is made of turquoise. Very uncommon peace I must say, laconic and refined, goes perfectly both with evening outfit and denim. It has to find another home now but I must say this thing has a lot of style and fun in it.
