I have been a contractor for 34 years and a fan of Hilti tools for about 10 years now. I own several of their drills and hammer drills and consider them the best. I also own their circular saw and corded recip saw. I bought this WSR 650-A cordless reciprocating saw new for the occasional punch-out work about 8 years ago. It served me well for quick work under a house or at the top of a ladder where a cord would be inconvenient. It came in handy fixing a fence 100 yards from the nearest outlet. Anyways. On most projects I use the corded model, but this has been great to have on hand for smaller, quick cuts and demo. I am selling this tool because I have switched the focus of my work to interior painting(a bit easier on the old body at this stage in my career) so I no longer need all my remodeling equipment. The money will be better used in ... morecase I ever retire(ha! Please pay careful attention to my next statement: This recip saw is in excellent condition. But I think the battery they sell with it should last longer than it does between charges. There have been a few times when it ran out of power while I was still using it. At first, I chalked it up to user error; forgot to fully charge it. But later it occurred to me that the battery might not be completely up to the standard of the saw itself. I also noticed that replacement batteries for this tool are quite plentiful on eBay, Amazon, etc. I suspect other builders have had similar concerns and thus the market for better, longer-lasting batteries. So I have adjusted my pricing on this tool with the thought that the buyer will pay another $50 to $60 on a new battery. If I was using this tool more extensively. I would buy two. The case has a separate compartment for the second battery. Perfect. The new Hilti model that replaces this one is the WSR 36-A that sells for around $900.
