Vintage Trombone Valve Section French Made(Please Click On The Images Above For Enlarged View) This is a friction fit valve section I purchased several years ago to use with an antique friction fit bell I bought at an estate sale. It fit together ok but not good enough to play"out" I never got a chance to try it with another bell section and it has been sitting in my basement for several years. The valve section is very well made. It has no markings except for the word"France" etched on the lead pipe. The valve caps are solid metal and the valves work very well even after sitting with no valve oil for years. All the slides pull except for the big one on the end. I didn't try to pull too hard on it since it is probably very old. There are only a few imperfections or dents on the piece. Most of the dents are on the tuning ... moreslides. The silver is mostly intact. I was able to measure the bore at the inside of the friction fit tubing. It is.430 inch. The outer diameter of the friction fit tubing is.505 inch. The overall length of the piece is 19 inches and the widest part is 6 inches(from the lower most tubing to the top of the valves) The valve casings are 4 inches tall by 7/8 inch wide. It is really a very nice valve section. Hope someone out there can use it. Please keep in mind this is a used instrument and it has imperfections. Most of them can be seen in the images I have provided so please be sure to look at all them. They show the condition of the instrument very well. Slide out built in drawer. It is not missing 1 socket the Open hole was for future expansion that never happened and has been plugged properly. Cosmetically show's some small wear and marks from useage and age. But still in good condition.
