This one is as charming as they come and a rare find. This little ring box is modelled in the form of a coal scuttle complete with the handle on the top. The front is decorated with the ever-popular Reynold's Angels scene. Five charming winged cherub or putti figures. The slanted front is pulled down to reveal the original velvet cushion to accommodate two rings, the interior of the box is lined in the original pale blue silk. The back of the box is where the full hallmark can be found which is rubbed but with this, the part hallmark on the drop-front and the English design registration number, the box can be dated to 1904 and assayed in the Birmingham assay office. Sz 8, a silver tone one with a pretty blue stone, sz 7, One that is marked 925, it has peridots& moonstone in it, sz 6, Another one marked 925 sz 71/2. It kind of looks like onyx, but on closer inspection, those stones are actually a blue-green colour. Then the two smaller rings are a red jasper, sz 81/2, a moonstone sz, 61/2. They are not marked. There is a nice vintage flower brooch in black& white, it is signed Made in W Germany on the back. Also a wonderful vintage sailfish brooch that is made out of an old plastic. Not bakelite, but a lightweight type of plastic. There is a nice duck or goose brooch& a lady ballerina brooch with 4 rhinestones on her dress, She has some metal worn off of her face& arm.
