The tag reads model 1A21 U No. 119765 KVA 1.5 Voilts 115 phase 1 cycles 60 rpm 1200 bat. volts 24 I do not know the year of this. But I understand these were made from 1926-1948 but I am not sure all parts are the same for all years. Never had this running, but it had been storred inside and seemed to be in overall pretty good shape. Be sure it is what you need before purchasing. Eb tuba King by White, 15" upright bell, front-facing valves
This sweet old girl is never going to win the beauty contest but she has a good shot at Miss Congeniality. Serial number dates her to 1915 or so. The silvered bell and the King by White engraving still polish up nicely but the satin finish of the rest of the horn is very worn. There are numerous small dents. Not all of them easily seen in the photos, and one larger dent, with its own closeup. None of the dents have any discernable effect on the tone. The tuba was purchased very used at Dillon Music, and I later had them replace the valve guides with new nylon guides. My experience as an ebay tuba shopper(not much of a buyer. But very devoted shopper) is that the front action(also called side action) valve configuration that I much prefer is definitely harder to find than top action valves. If you share my taste for front action valves, you ... moremay agree that this is a mild rarity. The design is quite conical for a tuba this size. So the sound is very rich and"tuba" as compared to tighter-wrapped Eb tubas. Also please note that if you compare these photos to the catalog pages at hnwhite.com. You will see that the first valve tubing on this particular example has been flipped upside down from what is shown in the catalog. I have no idea when or by whom this was done, but it is clear why: The first valve slide is now accessible to the player's left hand so it can be used to adjust the tuning during play. The horn is in completely playable condition but has not been getting out much. It does have mounting points for a strap(not included) but that still doesn't make it very comfortable for a standing gig like Tubachristmas. And although it is much more convenient than a sousaphone. The sousaphone makes a much better visual presentation at pep band events. Neither a case nor a mouthpiece is included in this auction.

This auction is for four pictured low flow pneumatic valves. The valves are identical but the fittings are somewhat different and can be observed in the photographs. Thre are barbs fir attaching tubing to the valve inputs and outputs. The Alkon valve model number S2323 is listed as an Alkon Sprite Valve with a current list price of $71. No description at the company web site appears to be available. Here is what is easily determined. These valves are powered by ordinary house voltage 115 V AC. The valves appear to be in the same form factor as a"C" contact in a relay. That is the valve transfers the flow from one port to another port. The fittings look like they are for 3/16 tubing and there is at least one filter to ambient atmosphere connected to one of the valves.
