Vintage Script Logo Traynor Bassmaster AB-1 tube amplifier head for sale. Hand wired point to point constructed amp that is built like a tank. No printed circuit boards used in this amp. The#786 serial number date this one to around early 1966. This one is the very early highly sought after tube rectified amp which produce a natural compression and tube sag sound when pushed into overdrive. Two EL-34 vacuum power tubes produce around 50 watts which can be operated at either 4 or 8 ohms with ease. The output transformer has been replaced with an original brand(Hammond) transformer. Filter caps have been replaced and the power tube sockets upgraded to ceramic type. Also upgraded with a three prong grounded cord. Dial face is in good clean condition for it' age with one minor repair in the right hand front corner,the Bakelite cabinet has only a few minor flea bites seen up close on the front bar grill area, and retains only a few scratches seen up close with no cracks in the Bakelite cabinet.This radio does retain some of it's original factory tubes and is a all American 5 tube AM radio. This set has 2 rotary controls for on/off, volume, and tuning control. This radio has been restored electronically. All wax paper capacitors as well as all electrolytic were all replaced with modern day equivalents,power cord is good working order as well. 6V6GC VINTAGE CLASS A Tube Amplifier 9-10 WATTS SLAVE AND SAVE Not a Fender
I am selling this power amp for someone who can add or use a preamp with it or who just needs a slave amp. Here is the back ground on this. First this came out of a mono tube recorder player. Years ago I stole power transformer out of it. I decided to get it going again so I replaced the transformer with one that did not have the 5 volt filament for the rectifier tube so I eliminated it and used silicone diodes instead. This explains the unused tube socket. One could wire it for a 6X5 tube if you wanted a tube rectifier but the solid state one will be more reliable. I replaced both coupling caps. I power this up and did a watt test on it. I used a 100 HZ signal into a 4 ohm load and was able to get 9 watts RMS out of it before clipping. There is no on off switch or controls and the input is the shielded cable and the speaker line is the 2 ... moreshort wires coming out next to the output transformer. This would be a good amp for a guitar project as well as other things. I can do mods on it but please ask first. Please look the pictures over. Fender Blonde Bassman 1962-63 6G6-A Wow. Where do I start? First. This Fender"63" Bassman 6G6-A sounds KILLER! My neighbor happens to have a mid-63 Bassman 6G6-B with original 2/12 cabinet. We played both heads thru that cabinet to get a comparison.we used a"59" Gretsch 6120 as our test guitar. I could tell no difference in tone. Volume, clarity or warmth. They both sounded amazing! I must say I was really surprised at how quite this Bassman was when not being played. No noisy hum, crackle or"sounds of the ocean" VERY QUITE. Both channels mirrored the 6G6-B in performance. All that being said.this Bassman has been played- In a lot of smokey Memphis bars. No smells- just the nicotine staining on the blonde tolex. There has been some repairs to covering(see picture of bottom of amp) I patched an area that was missing ... moretolex with an old piece of vintage"smooth" blonde tolex. It appears the original transformer was replaced at sometime with a period correct replacement transformer(see wires with black electrical tape) Pots are dated 10th week of 1963. Here's the weird thing.the brown knobs. These are period correct brown knobs.not modern reissues. These knobs have the old nickle screws and shafts. Not the reissue brass style. The original handle is secure but the plastic is cracked. The power tubes are Sovteck.not sure about remainder of tubes. Look. This was bought with alot of other vintage electronics and quite a few pieces look like they were old military items of some kind. They had that USN grey paint you see on ships. Could this possibly be a RADAR tube of some kind? I don't know. The tube measures 18-19" tall and the base is 7" square. I've seen similar items like this sold on ebay and being listed as"SAL-00" and Klystron tubes. This one looks alot like the pictures in most of the Sperry tube listings. This is a heavy baby too! The chassis serial number ends in"E" which should make it a 73, and it would also be one of the first with a PCB, since that was the transitional year for those. But the inspection tag reads 75. Not much of a difference there. This amp is exceptionally clean and unmolested. Transformers would be original Dagnall. New F&T filter caps. great for Marshalls! It has Westinghouse preamp glass and Sovtek power tubes(One of the retainer springs is a bit jerry-rigged) The back panel has nothing near the mains selector. Not sure if this was a factory option or if it ... morewas removed at one point. Still has the original hard wired power cord and impedance selector. Taking a look inside. The amp is very clean. I'm not an expert but there appear to be no active modifications and mostly everything looks right. Only two other things of note would be what appears to be a covered hole on the front panel in between the middle and treble pot. You can see that there is no sign of a mod here inside the amp. Also it looks like either the standby or power switch was replaced. This amp is just awesome sounding. Very loud and you can actually get that coveted Plexi overdrive at a reasonable volume level because of the 50 watt power. On the outside the amp is in great cosmetic shape. It does have some scratches and grime from being 40+ years old but the logo is in great shape. The trim looks nice and clean, and the front and back panels have no cracks or any major signs of wear. I plugged the laser into a standard HeNe power supply and it worked fine. I I believe that the original specs are: 7 mW output power at 632.8 nm. 90% TEM00 and 500:1 polarization Note that I could not measure and do not guarantee that the laser still meets these specifications. Vintage Seymour Duncan Convertible 100 Watt Combo Electric Guitar Tube Amplifier
For your consideration is a very good sounding Seymour Duncan convertible 100 tube combo amp. It is fully working and most of its original parts are still intact. Im sure the tubes are not original and it is missing some plug in device that can change the input impedance and it does not come with a footswitch. If you research the amp you will find that it has a variable output selector, this is not a master volume but a true wattage output switch. Keep it down at the 5 watt area and you get nice gritty tones go up in wattage and you get more clean headroom. PENTODE/TRIODE SWITCH can give you 60/100 watt operation plus the amp comes with its original 5 tone modules, more modules are available for different tone configurations. Heathkit SB-220 Tube Linear Amplifier offered for Repair. Acquired from the family of a ham radio operator this unit was stored in a bedroom closet. Covered by a blanket in a climate controlled environment there is no oxidation or tarnish. Brought to a local ham radio operator to test. The findings are: Amplifier shows 3KV in SSB idle, and approximately 2.4KV on CW/Tune in idle. Tested on 80 meters LSB the unit worked up to 40 watts input. As soon as the amplifier was fed more driver wattage it arced and gave off a puff of smoke in tune mode using a dummy load. Tune up was quickly attempted twice at higher than 40 watts with the same outcome on other bands. Therefore this unit is offered for repair. This particular amplifier has the Harbach capacitor and rectifier updates. As can been seen in the photos the inside of this unit is very clean. ... moreCosmetically there are a couple of small chips around the perimeter edge of the face plate and a few light marks on the case. The inner shield with ceramic hold down is in good shape and is present I just forgot to take a photo when the unit was opened. Dug out in Kurland Dug out in German bunker town. In dumps or just lying in bunkers and around them, found without soldier. Great, legendary item for any WW2 collector. Found near Skrunda on last positions of 290. Infanterie Division where division was at rest after battles, there were no battles at that exact place, it was one of the most awarded divisions of army group North. Lefi in condition as found. Scroll down to see better photos. The 11 Infantrie-Division arrived and was positioned between the 132- and 225 Infantrie-Division to strengthen the defence of these two battleworn divisions.
