Sterling Silver/Gold Plating Navaho Southwest Design Necklace/Clip Earring Set

This auction is for a handmade Navaho sterling silver necklace and clip earring set with gold plating. The necklace measures 22" long and has a hook and round eye closure. The whole necklace is strung on fine. Flexible wire, not string. Picture 2 shows some of the flexibility of this piece. It has 5 oval discs that under a magnifying glass you can see were handmade. Four of the oval discs are the same size- alittle over 1" wide x 1 1/2" top to bottom. The large center oval disc is 1 1/2" wide x 2 1/4" top to bottom. The clip earrings are the same size as the 4 smaller oval discs on the necklace- 1" wide x 1 1/2" top to bottom. Each ... moredisc has a ring of shiny, smooth silver on the outside rim of the disc. The inside is brushed silver with shiny and stamped design in the center. The southwestern pottery in each disc design has gold plating(Please see picture 4) The large necklace disc and one of the earrings is marked with the word sterling and the artist's initials(Please see picture 3) The earrings could easily be converted to pierced by a jeweler if preferred. The earring discs each have an extra"mesa" in the design- one on the left side. One on the right side- for a right and left earring. The necklace weighs 90g. The earrings weigh 20g. The necklace beads are hollow. But all the discs are solid sterling and give the necklace a substantial presence that will keep the necklace centered when wearing. The set was purchased at a Native American Designer Gallery in Las Vegas. This substantial, well made set is truly an artisan piece that is sure to be noticed and treasured. The hallmarks are made up of gothic letters that are also difficult to read. I think the letters are"MB& H" and because the electroplating is so heavy, I believe they may date to the 1800's. They have a spot of plate loss on their heels, where the spoons would come to rest on a table. The are approximately 9 inches in length. Great very old Independent Order of Odd Fellows ceremonial sword. Har- g Uniform& Regalia Co. Boston Mass is written on the hilt of the sword. Also written on the blade Patriarchs Militant and on the reverse side is the name of who owned the sword E. C. Hunt. The brass on the scabbard is what I thi;nk is a lamb and a lion and under PAX AUT BELLUM. The blade measures 28" and 34.25" overall.
