This trumpet fininish/patina is almost all raw ... morebrass with some tarnishing which could be polished. There are little leftovers of original lacquer and those are on actual bell flare and bell stamping where the text is. Little leftover of lacquer on the valve section. I don`t see repairs. Resolders on this horn. This trumpet plays great and you won`t hear small bore in it`s sound. The best news are that it appears to have a recent valve work done which I determined by looking at the pistons as those appear to be freshly plated and are also very tight. This kind of job would cost you at least $400-$500 and at a little higher cost you are already buying a trumpet with valve job already done and horn ready to play out of the case. DON`T MISS! Engravings on the bell and valve section look excellent and everything is fully readable. All slides are coming out as well( except the very front part of the tuning slide which I don`t want to force it out) Horn can be tuned by the tuning slide part which works. Understamped Quadruple Plate 1120 hard white metal BC and scales logo.The Middletown Plate Company was operating from 1864- 1899 in Connecticutt so these items are well over 100 years old. Hard white metal is most probably an alloy similar to Britannia metal. Cleaning over the years has removed most of the plating from these items leaving an attractive shiny grey patina. All items have a matching floral design. The teapot is 15cm high x 23cm long with a hinged lid and a cast spout and handle. The latter having heat insulating ceramic discs. Capacity 1100cc. It has very slight dents near top of body. Lightly stained inside. The milk jug has very similar pattern with an overall height of 9cm. Length 15cm. It has one extremely small dent near top of body. It is stained inside. The sugar ... morebasin is again similar with one very small dent. Height 11cm. Length 16cm. Stained inside. The slop basin is basically a larger version of the sugar basin but has a loose lid. Mechanically perfect. Height 12cm. Length 19cm. Slightly stained. The butter dish is clearly meant to be part of the same set since it bears the same 1120 number. This would have had a glass liner so that the domed lid would have a better fit. width 17cm height 14cm. The lid has one very small dent. The flange on the base is slightly distorted in one place. There were 2 versions of the M21: the 1930-40’s version with the double coin edge and the later 1950-60’s version with a single groove on the outside rim edge. The later version compares to a Bach 11C in cup diameter with a little deeper cup than the Bach. While the 1940's with the coin edge compares to a 7C in diameter. Especially if you have a King trombone. Either version will play much better in tune than a Bach or other brand. While most mouthpieces play the high D flat and high f sharp, you will find that either M21 plays almost perfectly in tune on these notes. Both have a very easy and smooth high register Either M21 version has a more"V" shaped and slightly deeper cup than a typical Bach. This flute is an Emerson model 8B featuring sterling silver tubes, HC model headjoint with factory engraved floral design lip plate, 24k gold plated lip plate, crown, and rings, silver plated keys, open hole French keys, inline G, B foot with high C facilitator. Cosmetically this flute is a 9-9.5/10 with just the smallest light scratches from use. The pads are as close to new as used can get, seal perfectly and have been lightly adjusted to seal 100% The flute was fully disassembled on 2/25, polished by hand, head cork has been replaced with a Valentino synthetic cork that will last indefinitely,the keys were hand polished, keys cleaned of old oil and re-oiled, corks adjusted where necessary, joints fitted(no wobble) the flute was cleaned and disinfected ... moreinside and out, fully play-tested to ensure 100% pad seal, and the flute was disinfected a final time.
