A Netherlands 833 silver pierced bowl serving spoon. The top of the handle has a wind mill with a rotating blade. The center of the bowl has a crest and flowers. The inside upper edge of the bowl has the Netherlands silver mark[833] along with a date letter for either 1903 or 1904. There is an assay mark in the lower door of the wind mill. The serving spoon is not monogramed no mono. removal. The spoon is 6& 1/4 inches long and is in good estate condition with miner use wear. No pit marks. Plate loss, heel wear, breaks or repairs. Each windmill has 8 different pinwheels on it, and are sturdy enough to put in the ground if you would like(I do hear that moles do not like these because of the vibration they put off into the ground so the moles leave! The foil pinwheels are about 2 1/2" wide, and the entire circular part that they are on is about 7" wide. Robert Allen Studios ran 1870-1929. This piece is pre turn of the century. Fine crazing.No chips or cracks, an excellent piece. 8.5 inch H x 19.5 in. around the belly with 1.75 lip and a small 1.25 inch opening at butler. The deep blue cobalt flows through out the windmill design in great detail with flocks of birds.A fence and house, to compliment The Royals and Delftware collector. Great range of blue values. Inside is hard to see but it has been used& it's ribs can be felt. That a potter formed it on a wheel. Many factories poured earthenware in molds. Wind Mill Lawn Ornament
This probably dates back to the 50's. It's in fairly good shape. Could use a coat of paint but is structurally sound. It's been wired back from rotating in the wind but with a little bit of buttressing it could be set to do the whole rotation. The blades measure approximately 5"3' The blades to the end of the tail 6"5' and the base is roughly 4 feet across. A great piece with a lot of charm and character and a good price!
