Up for auction we have a nice antique flag pole stand. This flag pole stand was Salvage out of a church before demolition. The base measurements are: the center hole is 1" in diameter. The overall height is 4.5" its about 10" wide. Weight 4.5 lbs. There no broken parts. However it is missing 1 wing nut. As seen in the picture. Keep in mind this base is antique therefore it will not be in perfect conditions it does have some paint ware some scratches it will need to be cleaned. Overal nice condition. No damages that can be seen with very bright and shiny brass finish! He stands approx. 5" tall with a 4-1/2" wingspan and a 1-3/4" diameter base. We are unsure of the the thread size where a threaded rod would be screwed into. It appears to be 2 separate cast pieces, as there is a screw on the back holding the base to the eagle. This particular piece is unmarked, so we are unsure of who originally made this. We were told when we acquired this finial that this was used at an American Legion hall here in Chicago. It is found in good used condition and sits on a pole which measures approximately 30" long. The only condition issues to report are several thinning areas in the cotton material. I've already confessed to jumping on the Y2K Millennium Bandwagon just like so many others did. And I admit it was exciting to watch the century change. I picked up a few Millennium Themed items for my party and when the evening was over. I packed those items away and have never looked at them again until now. If you look at my other items, or at my store, I'm selling them now in hopes they will become additions to perhaps a much larger collection. I purchased this BEAUTIFUL Front Porch Pole Flag celebrating the Millennium, and flew it for about 2-3 weeks during the time. It is in near-perfect condition however, because it is one of those Flags that is very well made and since it was flown during winter. It doesn't seem to have faded at all. It is a standard Flag size: 39" x 27 1/2" that's about 3 1/4 feet x a little ... moreover 2 1/4 feet. It reads Millennium from front to back on both sides. Another sign of a well-made Flag. The whole showing a superb consistent gentle fade across the fabric, mounted on a long smooth wooden pole surmounted by a painted silver finial, survives from the first quarter of the twentieth century. There is some light fraying to the edges of the fabric and one small area of sun light fade to one end with one end of the red ground more grubby ... morethan the other but generally the flag and the pole are in good condition. The cotton could of course be ironed and hand washed if so desired. During the time of the British Empire the dominions. Many of the colonies, protectorates, mandates, and other territories carried their own flags, mostly under the blue ensign although some territories and colonies did also use red ensigns for their flags. The Australian Red Ensign resulted from the 1901 Commonwealth Government Federal Flag Design Competition which required two entries: a flag for official use by the Commonwealth Government and one for the use of State and local governments, mercantile marine, private organisations and individuals. The winning design was based on the traditional British Red Ensign and featured the Southern Cross and Commonwealth Star. It measures 7ft. 3 in. long. in good condition, there are a few minor scratches here and there due to wear and age of being used. This is a nice piece of history.

It is on a telescoping flag pole which is adjustable from 6 feet to 8 feet. The pole separates into 2 pieces which are 53 inches each. The pole can go into the ground or into a flag holder. I used my 13 year old son in the pictures as a reference of height and size of the flag. The shipping cost is a little higher than usual because the height of the pole broken down is still 53 inches. If you want it without the pole shipping will be much cheaper.

Vintage Brass Bronze Eagle Flag Pole Finial Architectural Americana
Up for auction is a vintage brass or bronze eagle flag finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. It is still on a pole which can be removed by unscrewing it from its base. Once unscrewed, there is a 1/4" screw underneath it. I believe the eagle to be brass or bronze, as it will not attract a magnet. It features natural patina, which shows itself as spotting on the sleeve. The wing span is approximately 3 1/2" wide. The eagle is also 3 1/2" tall. A very nice finial. Very nice for reuse or to be used as a finial again. After pulling on the wood for awhile, I finally got it loose. This is a nice dual Flag Pole Ribbon Streamer. Awarded to Longhorn Council by Stewart W. DeVore pres. 23 inches long. Dated on the back 1966. I will be listing a bunch of scouting. The marker is made of bronze or brass and has weathered. The pole is made of brass. The back has two built in holes for the pole used to put in the ground and a hole a bit higher for a small flag.
