Antique vintage 4 pole DC electric motor, dynamo, late 1800's early 1900's,
For auction is an antique four pole*direct current* motor(or dynamo if you/it is able to induce current in its stator. that is beyond my expertise) previously I had accidentally stated it as alternating current dynamo. Its commutator is designed for DC operation. Sorry for the confusion) It does not have a manufacturer dataplate so I do not know its ratings or age but based on its architecture it is very old. The only markings on it are"R501" stamped on the iron stator housing and the coil numbers both on the iron housing and on the stator coil forms. The letter and numbers are very small being 2-3mm tall. The motor has been used as there is some wear on the commutator but the wear on the brushes is minimal. It has a beautiful patina under the dust. No deep rust. No pitting. I am not sure if the insulation is cotton or silk but ... morethe insulation on the coils looks to be in perfect condition. Insulation on the brush leads might need to be rewrapped. This motor is perfect for a gentle restoration. I have not run it but the rotor spins freely by hand. It weighs 38lbs. The cast iron stator housing is 7" in diameter and is 5.5" deep. Total length is 9.5" Flat belt pulley has a belt surface of 2" diameter and 1.1" width between flanges. Note: Please look at the pictures very carefully. International bidders: please contact me if you want to place a bid/offer. We can probably work out how to freight this overseas. Item is well over 100 years old and is sold As-Is. No returns It will be shipped insured. Buyer agrees to pay for insurance. Dynamo will be very carefully packed in a large double box. I do not charge a shipping fee unless I have to build a custom wooden crate. Crating is $100.00. Regardless.
