The small black handle next ... moreto the white guard is to release the brake when it gets kicked(see pics#2& 7) The saw runs very good and has good power for the size. In my opinion it's configuration is comfortable, predictable and easy to control. The oiler is an impulse type so when the saw is running it oils even when it idles and it oils the 14" bar and chain very well. The sprocket cover had a few scratches so since the saw is in such good condition I primed the cover with self etching primer and painted it the original flat black color. I received the saw without a bar and chain so that is why it comes with a newer type with the bearing sprocket nose that has little wear. The chain has a fair amount of life to it also. The air filter looks to have a lot of life left in it. Clutch and sprocket have a ton of life too. Pull starter is smooth and engages the flywheel/ fan very good and consistently. The rope is clean and strong. I live at sea level so minor adjustments to the carburetor may be needed for your elevation if higher. Overall the saw has low hours by the looks of it. Runs very well(even for an older model saw) starts smoothly and responds to adjustments to the carburetor like it should. I've carefully used it to trim my overgrown orange tree and cut quite a few 5"6" rounds with it. It is in such good condition that I didn't want to scratch it up. If you have any?s let me know.
