Fits me well, I'm 5' 8.5" 162 lb. It worked perfect, I bought it because it was the same model as a BC I used with my diving class that I liked. Anyhow the BC is near perfect. Keep it all together in this Very nice ORVIS rod and equipment carrier. The rod compartment is 5 feet long. 6 inches deep and 3 1/2 inches wide. The smaller reel and other equipment compartment measures 20 inches long. 5 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches deep. There is a ring sewn on the side where you can clip you dep net. In good condition, there are a few glass slivers that have chipped of on the inside around the little hole. Each have one very small sliver chip on the outside around the small hole. In fact, Admiral de Fonte did not exist and the entire account was a fiction published in a short-lived English publication known as"Monthly Miscellany or Memoirs of the Curious" in 1706 and probably ... morewritten by its editor James Petiver. On his passage, the self-styled"then Admiral of New Spain and Peru, and now Prince of Chili" described vast inland lakes and rivers, meeting other ships using the passage and a"Nation of Pygmies" inhabiting the region towards the North Pole. Incredibly, this transparent hoax was taken as genuine by some of the leading geographers of the 18th century with as a particular advocate and maps showing the fanciful nonsense of"L'Amiral de Fonte" were published as serious cartographic works for a number of decades. This example was compiled by the English Royal Geographer in 1768 and here translated into French and engraved in 1772 by none other than for inclusion of the plate in the great Encyclopédie of Denis Diderot. Item description Antique F.C. Linde pattern passage door lock set. C.1885. A very nice set, typical of the 1880's, including stylized flowers, shingles and geometric designs. All of the pieces are beautifully finished bronze castings with below average wear. The lock is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. The last photo speaks to the condition of the lock's internal components. This set includes the difficult to find pattern matched strike plate. The strike plate and the lock are reversible and will work with both right and left hand swing doors. As pictured, the lock is setup for a left hand swing door. If you need it reversed, let me know and I'll switch it for you. The set includes one bronze faced reversible mortise lock. Two pattern knobs, two matching door plates, strike plate and a working deadbolt key. Also ... moreincluded is a reconditioned knob spindle with two new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 3/8" and the face plate is 5 1/4" tall x 15/16" wide. The plates are 5 1/4" tall x 1 5/8" wide. The letter is datelined New York Jan 1. 1852, and the stamp is tied with a blk New York 3 bar slug. The letter was written by Thomas P Lennox, and addressed to Capt Patrick Lennox in Wiscasset Maine. Very interesting manuscript about a long and tedious passage of 58 days from the mouth of the river. 22 days out I was in long 62.50 and since that time have had a continual gale of wind from the westward. Attended with snow and hail on the 10 th of Dec. While laying to under close… main topsail& fore topmast sta?sail and caused the ship to leak seven hundred strokes per hour after the gale moderated the ship made less water but is now making 400 strokes per hour. ANTIQUE / VINTAGE c.1912 7 SETS PASSAGE DOOR KNOBS, SHAFTS and BACKPLATES
Here we have a very nice lot of seven complete sets of antique c.1912. Door knobs, shaft and back plates including one with a privacy thumb turn mechanism. I believe these are called"Copper and Smoke" design. They are steel with copper plating. The back plates are rectangle, approx. 2" by 6 1/2" with the copper and smoke finish through out. One of the back plates is slightly smaller and one does not have the copper finish, I think these were in closets. One of the plates has the privacy thumb turn mechanism installed in the key hole, this came out of the bathroom. The inner portion of the knobs is cast steel while the outer part is pressed. The knobs are approx. 2 1/4" in diameter and 1 1/8" deep. The face of the knobs match the design on the back plates. The shaft is approx. 4" long and 7/32" square ... morewith threaded adjustment holes on each end. All parts are original, including the set screws. It is an attractive set. Now. You may be thinking, how does he know these are c.1912? If you notice the last pic of the group. This is our house and it is documented to have been built in 1912. This hardware has come from our house. Due to the restorations we are doing to upgrade the home, unfortunately we are not able to re-use some of the original hardware. We are hoping that it will find its way to another heritage home and again be useful for another 100 years. As for condition. This set has been used on a daily basis for many years and are just as they have come off the doors. They have come from the upper floor bedrooms and bathroom of our house. The set has no dents, bends, or repairs. They are unpainted, clean and smooth with no surface rust tarnish or corrosion. The copper and smoke finish is in very good condition, however some do show a little more ware than others, especially on some of the knobs but this is to be expected on a set that has been used daily. The pieces of this set have complementary vernacular designs with nice sharp detail. Though Corbin rarely named its patterns. The knobs are listed in the company catalogs as"Gothic" The set has an aged color typical of quality bronze castings and there is minimal discernable wear, except for the strike plate which shows a few small dings. Everything is straight and functional. The reversible mortise lock has strong springs and is in excellent working order. The last photo speaks to the condition of the lock's internal components. The set includes one solid bronze faced mortise lock.
