Hard covers held in place with three brass screws, so it may be disassembled to add or remove pages. Sign companies used this portfolio as a sales aid and could order a detailed sketch from Mr. Kamin's design company. This publication contains approximately 700 line illustrations and photos of signs. Borders, theater marquees and lettering from the Art Deco era. Electrical signage was still a fairly new development in the 1920's and the addition of neon ... moreand bulbs to traditional signpainter's art revolutionized the industry. The illustrations could be an inspiration and an invaluable reference to a sign professional or any designer who wishes to incorporate classic Art Deco forms into their work. The portfolio is in good condition. But it was a working book and after 84 years of use and storage the pages have some degree of fragility. It can be used with proper care. Some age-toning on pages, especially around the edges. Also some small tears, creases and rough edges. No stains or water damage, and no writing or marks. Complete, with no missing pages or illustrations. Two of the illustrations were cut out but were put back between the appropriate pages. Two pages are loose(sixth photo) and some others are creased near the binding. All the original paper is there, so repair or reinforcement could be done if desired. 1860 KUNSTLER ALBUM PORTFOLIO ORIGINAL GERMAN CHROMOLITHOGRAPH ENDER LITHOGRAPH
I found this at an Estate sale. It appears to me to be a chromolithograph. Though I'm not an expert. It has beautiful colors and the lithographer's name is reflected thereon twice, and appears to be Edward/Edoward/Ednard/or Edonard ENDER. He also apparently signed and dated the piece and placed the date on it(i.e. 1860) It has an IMPRESSED stamp showing"Wiener Kunstler Album 1860" below the title of the piece"Der Schmollwinkel" Wiener Kunstler Album is also reflected on the top, and below that is"3.Jhrg.7.Lief" Also at below the oval scene are the words"Druck u Verlag Reiffenstein& Rosh" On the bottom right hand side are the words: JedeVervielfalugung susschlrefslich vorbehalten" On the bottom left hand side are the words: Herattsgegeben vom Kunstler-Verein Eintract" The piece ... moreincluding margins measures 21.5" x 16.5" The oval scene measures 15" in height. I did some internet research and the only thing I could determine is that this apparently was a part of a portfolio. Also, I found where the British Museum apparently has some of these Wiener Kunstler Album Lithograph's in its possession. As you can see the margins on the edges have some wear and tear, but those portions would be covered by the framing of the piece. GOOD LUCK!

Corners are slightly rounded but it is clean, all interior flaps present and completely intact. The prints and credit sheets are presented on substantial weight stock measuring 12 ¾” x 14 ¾” with folder just slightly larger. The image area of each of these pastel impressions is 7” x 9 ¼” and each is signed in the plate. Slight age toning is noted in the margins but each print is clean and straight out to the points, free of soil, marks, creases or tears. The prints would be elegant. Matted and framed individually, however, please take the time to diligently research availability prior to breaking up the set. In the several years during which they had them in storage, we have not been able to locate another set although quite a number of references are made online to this 1990 edition by educational institutions throughout the world. Hi and thanks for looking. I'm selling this archival portfolio case that was given to me by a family friend that works in the archives of Dr. Henry Jay Heimlich. She found this and apparently it wasn't needed. Gray/green leather case with large gray plastic interior. arge pocket on inside case. Measures 26"x20"x2" This thing is massive and would be great for carrying art supplies. Large documents or used as a prop for various shoots. It's super sturdy. There is wear on all the edges but this thing isn't falling apart ever. Wear just gives it a vintage charm.

Handsome leather bound writing portfolio from the early 1900's measures 10.5" X 9" The cover has a heavily embossed picture of a winged lion holding a Latin text and a kneeling clergy with an American Flag. This came from a woman who first lived in Baltimore MD. and I don't know if the scene has anything to do with the statehood of MD. There are also 2 green decorative stripes on the top and bottom of the portfolio of green and gold gild that go from front to back cover. The covers open to an interior of green colored moire fabric. There is one pocket on the right side. There is a tear in the bottom border both outside and inside and is pictured. An exquisite desk accessory from an era when correspondence was an art.
