The entire desk feels solid, with sturdy metal construction throughout. All joints are securely welded. Amisco is a Canadian manufacturer of high-end contemporary furniture. Though Amisco doesn't seem to make office furniture now, a quick visit to their website reveals that their barstools, kitchen and home furniture reflect the same quality and contemporary styling as this one-of-a-kind office set. Also, this desk is in virtually immaculate condition, with a clean unmarked surface and smooth keyboard slide out tray. The only defect is a small tear in the black veneer underneath the bottom of the keyboard pull out that is not visible unless under desk. With a quick clean and polish this will be one great desk clock. Even has a tic-toc that is not real loud but can be clearly heard in a quiet room. A small crack in the veneer at bottom as seen in pic4 but not really noticeable.
