Raggedy Andy Pencil Sharpener: Does not currently work with new batteries. Would need to be repaired. Still a very nice vintage piece that can be for show or fixed for full function. It requires 2"D" batteries. There is no battery cover and there are only the 4 metal pieces(2 on each side of each battery) that serve as the battery contacts. But, the small plastic piece that comes down slightly when a pencil is inserted at the top does not touch anything that would activate the battery contact. So it seems there's a piece missing and if anyone knows how to replace that, I'm quite sure this pencil sharpener could be operable.
