Hermes Vintage Document Case Portfolio Brief Case Leather Burgundy
This is an auction for a burgundy leather portfolio document case with a zipper around 2 sides. It measures 11x15" It is lined with burgundy suede. It is in great shape for a vintage piece. It has a man's name stamped in gold inside the case. It is very small and hardly noticeable. I just finished putting Hermes Mink oil on the outside surface to give the leather a bit of hydration. If the leather looks spotty in the photos it is because of this treatment. It will soak in after a day or so. This case is Vintage. It is probably from the 70's. Therefore it will show some patina and checking along the bottom. It is not a new item. The leather is wonderful and has a great feel.

This is a gorgeous. Very elegant, very streamlined dark brown briefcase or portfolio(attache) by the Japanese brand Sazaby. EXCELLENT, barely-used condition. I purchased this at the wonderful high-end Japanese department store Sogo on a business trip. And have only used it four or five times, each time for no more than an hour or so(to/from job interviews) Is in excellent, virtually new condition. Has a wonderful elegant shape: see pic taken from above to see how narrow it is. Yet very roomy. With lots of good interior side pockets, one of which(a big one) has a zipper. The two handles are sturdy. The leather is in a beautiful thick dark brown with very faint black mottling- see closeups. I would say that the leather is cowhide. Though of course all of the literature that came with the briefcase(the tags and the little booklet) are in Japanese ... moreonly. The interior is cotton. In a very cool burnt orange color. The hardware is silver. Also, there are a handful of tiny silver"foot" nubs on the bottom, so that when you set it down, the leather is not actually touching the floor or the surface you set it on. Nice and roomy inside: measures approximately 44 cm(long) by 30 cm(high) by 8 cm(wide at bottom) Closes with a pull/metallic silver hardware. You can see it on the outside on one side only(the front) The first two pictures show the front and the back. A friend who is Japanese confirms that the interior label(not shown in pics) reads"made in Japan" in Japanese. The only real sign of wear is the small circular indentation under the silver. On the outside, which is coming from the interior closure. Not really an issue, but wanted to point it out. There is also what looks like a cross on the front, in the lower left part of the middle panel, in the pics, but please note that in reality, those are not scratches- they're just raised ridges in the leather(natural) that the camera and light catch, which make them look noticeable in pics. This is a dark brown leather Avenue Americas portfolio organizer with a 3 ring binder. There are two pockets on the outside-one on each side. The inside also includes multiple pockets. Card pockets, with a slide in pocket large enough to hold a standard notepad. There is also an expanding pocket inside with double snap closures to adjust for thickness. The handles are retractable. It measures about 7.5" x 11.25" x 2" It is a burgundy/brown leather that is in good condition. The stitching is intact. Has a few scuffs from use. It was gently used and has ALOT of life left. The zipper works well. When open it has a spot for pens. Business cards, cell phone, credit cards, receipts or notes. It has a second area that when unsnapped it has a half page and a full page pocket. It is clean and free of smells. The inside looks like it was never used. The outside spine has a hook. It has a makers mark on the front cover, but I am unable to figure out who it is. It is hand made in Italy of genuine leather. Vintage Turino Italian Heavy Leather Briefcase This case shows lots of wear and is in need of some repair. The leather is thick and very stiff. Brown leather is scuffed badly on the bottom. Deep scratches on several places on the bag. Bottom corners need to be resewn by a cobbler or leather repair shop. Straps also could use some new stitching. Straps and buckles difficult to use as the straps are so thick. It's difficult to push thru the buckles, and even then the buckles don't lie as flat as I think they should. The metal latch functions. But there is no key. It has been opening and closing without the key. You just push the latch down. The metal holding the top strap shows some corrosion.
