Vintage Panasonic KP-110 Electric Pencil Sharpener All Wood Grain Design
This Is an awesome early'90s pencil sharpener. Now I may not be familiar with some of the Cadillacs of pencil sharpening but I don't see how it gets any better than this. This is a solid well made pencil sharpener way better than anything you will buy at Walmart. It sharpens pencils fast. Stops when they are sharp and the shavings tray fits securely and doesn't fall out even if you face it downwards. What a concept! I think the fact that the entire sharpener is wood grain is a little more handsome than some of the other looks these come in. Unfortunately it does have some some minor surface scratches and scuffs on the outside from normal use and on the left side(shavings tray side) there is a little nic on the top edge. It works like it did out of the box and will probably outlive many new sharpeners. I sharpened some demo pencils ... moreand have them in the pics. The plastic tray has a small chip at the bottom(see pic) The lettering on the plastic tray shows a little wear as well. The front half of the bottom looks to have been cut out. It measures approximately 4" tall by 8" long by 3-3/8" wide. It is being sold"as-is" for parts or repair. The motor did work when tested but the sharpener did not turn. I have owned several Boston sharpeners over the years and they just seem to be a step above the rest. This model 17 is the best all around Boston sharpener there is. With it's flashy wood grain and hi-gloss plastic shavings catcher it says"look at me I'm industrial and pretty" I don't think it was ever used until I put a dozen no.2 Ticonderoga's through it. Reminds me of grade school, back then sharpeners put a point on a pencil that made it a leathal weapon and thats exactly what this model 17 does. 3 seconds from blunt to an eye poker outer, just makes me wanna sit around all day and run pencils through it.
