It is a continuous piece I presume as I did not take it all off of the card and has been packed away unused for many years. I have estimated the yardage to be at least 60 yards and probably more. It came in a box with turn of the century heavy tapestry material. Don't know if it is that old but is definitely vintage. It is clean and has no odors. Would be wonderful for millinery. This is a really nice carved French style armchair made by the Thomasville Furniture Co. It has a whitewash finish and I believe the upholstery is leather. It measures aprox. 27" wide x 22" deep x 37 1/2" high. The seat is 23 1/2" wide x 20" deep and it is 17 1/2" from the floor to the top of the seat. There are a couple of scuffs mostly on the back which you can see in the pictures, overall it is nice and clean. I did not clean the sofa other than vacuuming and polishing the wood trim and you can see the hair oil where the man sat to read his daily newspaper. This adds to the history of the sofa. Up for auction is this unique vintage hand crochet trim. I believe this trim was made as a border along three edges of a bedspread or quilt because there are three legths of trim that meet at two corners. This is wide trim measuring approx. 6" wide. The two side sections are approx. 77" along the inside edge and the end section is approx. 75" along the inside edge. It looks like someone had begun to add fringe on one end that is approx. 6" long as you can see in the fifth phto I provided. The upholstery is black floral needlepoint and in really good condition. There are a few small pulls in the black but they are hardly noticeable. The cushion is trimmed in black fringe with gold tassels on each corner. The base is cast iron and has been painted gold. There is a barley twist style stretcher and paw style feet. I do not know the maker ... moreor exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect.
