This book is the absolute best authority I think that can be found on Atlas lathes. Starts out with care and construction and details how the lathe should be unpacked and set up.This is an older book and tells how to"run in" the Babbitt Bearings. It has a picture of the lathe with numbered arrows pointing to the places that need oil and grease along with a description of what care is needed at each point. Has a very complete section on threading and charts of gear setups for threads. Covers multiple threads and taper threads. Covers wire winding(Electrical coils) The one thing that I really found interesting is the formula to calculate the gear train for odd threads and feeds. It gives an example of 88 threads and goes through all the math. Many Many tables and charts.
