This is a used Vintage Sears Roebuck& Co. CRAFTSMAN METAL LATHE. Model 109-20630 ~ For RESTORATION or PARTS. Selling this Old Craftsman Metal Lathe as a Restoration Piece. Or for Parts to restore another one. SOLD AS IS. It has been sitting in a garage for Many years. There is surface oxidation/rust on Many parts of this lathe.but if someone has the time to take the pieces off of it. And clean the rust from them, I think it will still be a Good machine. Vintage Craftsman/AA 109.20630 benchtop lathe 6"x12" Barn find with 1/4hp motor
Nice old Craftsman 109 lathe. Works but I personally haven't machined any parts on it. This is practically a barn find. Having been stored away for years. It was bolted to a small bench, so the motor is now separate from the lathe and you'll need to mounting it in whatever fashion suits you best. Lathe turns free and smooth. All the adjustments move. The compound works but the chrome knob has a small crack as shown. Includes a bag of spare parts- change gears. Tool post, etc. The motor is an old GE 1/4hp cast iron unit. CRAFTSMAN LATHE 109-20630 Used PROJECT LATHE
Used lathe needs a make-over. I wiped it down removing mouse poop. Leaves and spider webs. I borrowed a motor from another tool and ran it for about a half hour. Every thing turns. Nothing went clunk. I tried the the gear reverse and got the tool rest to move. If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to ask. This is my first lathe venture, so you will need to guide me to what you need to know. Iron is all good. No cracks or breaks. Tool rest shows grind marks. You will notice that parts are missing. I have for auction this vintage Craftsman metal working machinist lathe. It comes with everything as seen in the photos. The lathe is in very good running condition and runs quietly. It has original paint. No rusting. No dusting. The bearing is tight. The motor is Kenmore 1/4 hp. Runs very smooth, no vibration at 1750 rpm. The overall length of the lathe from end to end is 33' long. As it seeing at the photos everything is set at thick plywood plate laminated with Formica. It can run at 24 speeds. It is 3' to the center of the chuck from the ways of the bed. The gears that are on the lathe now do not show any wearing. The auto feed works forwards and backwards. The compound slide is in very good condition. The counter shaft is in very good working condition. The original owner bought it brand new, didn’t use it much and took decent ... morecare of this lathe and everything also that he had(the old style of American machinist) It is a good user lathe. Up for auction is a Craftsman 109 lathe that I completely restored. It faces and turns like it should. The back gears and power feed work. The tool steel in the pictures was cut with back gears on. The aluminum was cut with back gears off. I am only selling because it is not big enough for my needs. And I don't have the extra room to store it in my home garage machine shop. It is taking up valuable floor space. The lathe could use a new ball handle on the cross slide. The hole on one side was drilled out to remove a stubborn pin and I used a filler material to fill the hole. It is only cosmetic. The handle functions perfectly. These four Craftsman Lathe include three of the model#109.20630 and one of the long bed model#109.0702 Two of the middle lathe are almost complete. You can make one good lathe out of the lot. There are assorted gears and parts. Other two are in full condition. There is no motor for the auction lot. I DO NOT SEE ANY BROKEN PARTS BUT THE UNIT IS KINDA DIRTY WITH SAW DUST ON IT. I AM NOT A MACHINEST SO I REALLY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FULLY TEST ALL FUNCTIONS OF THIS LATHE. IT LOOKS LIKE THE LAST OWNER MOUNTED A BOARD ON IT BUT THE OTHER PARTS ARE THERE SHOWN IN PHOTOS SITTING IN FRONT OF LATHE. THE JAW CHUCK SPINS FREELY.
