Up for bids is an early General Electric Wire Wound Rheostat. This an early type made for RCA by GE. It measures very low ohms on my VOM. It is marked Model PT-537. Brass and copper conductors and heavy black bakelite construction. The unit appears complete. It has three mounting holes inside the innermost row of windings. 4 1/2 inches in diameter. 5 inches at widest part. These three holes are just about 2 inches on center between each. This early 1900's rheostat will clean up nicely, although it is quite clean now. Heavy and well-made in the US. 3 pounds well-packed. Bid on it for your collection or for an upcoming project. Someone went to a lot of trouble to make all of these cardboard backing pieces with various types of thread hand rolled on to the bases. I do not know if this means that this thread was prepared for tatting lace work. Or fish tying flies, etc. I do not know if these were special for needlework. Lace or even for fly tying. I was wondering if these have special weights or are made of special materials– silks. Special cords? Appears to be a variety, so I took various close up photographs. I took photographs of the entire lot for you to examine. But then I took additional close-ups of various threads. They do not look like they are all the same. I weighed the package and it without any packaging ... morethe threads weigh approximately 2 ounces. I hope this is a special lot. This is a GE part# 5bc 48 jb676 2.75 HP or 2.1 Kw(1 HP=748 watts) 24V DC electric motor from a Crown pallet lift. Crown part#90432 and#020188. 60 min duty cycle(continuous) insulation class H. These will run on higher voltages for more power. Plain 7/8" shaft with keyway. Easy to put a sprocket, pulley or coupler on. Approx 50 lbs, 9 1/2"Long X 6 1/2" diameter with approx 3 1/2" long shaft. Band type brush cover/protector. The picture shows a gear on the shaft near the motor, this is included but easily removable with one snap ring. This motor would be great for a light electric car, motorcycle or high performance go kart. For instance, I am working on a project now where I plan on using 2 of these motors to power an old VW. 11 " Pilgrim glass hand blown Spiral wound crackle glass vase
Here is a gorgeous hand blown crackle glass vase with a spiral wrap wound around the waist if the vase.It was made by Pilgrim glass in the sixties and is about 11 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter and has the dotted(Strawberry) pontil mark on the bottom where the punty rod was attached to finish off the top of the vase. The dots came from the glass blower tapping the tip of the molten punty against a file fastened to his bench before attaching it to the bottom.This made the piece release easier when he was done with less chance of the base cracking.It is in excellent condition no chips cracks or stains and shipping in the usa is free.
