Mechanical resuscitator. You literally give the stare of life. Turn the oxygen on, get a good seal, and wait. The machine does the breathing for the patient. or it's supposed to. These things probably killed a good number of patients through lack of knowledge. How it works is, when the resuscitator is applied, it simply flows. When resistance is met, a relief valve kicks, and the patient is able to exhale. Then the process starts all over again, you'd either go till rigor sets in, or till you run out of oxygen. The inhalator works like a non-rebreather, you just let it flow enough to keep the bag full. And the aspirator works fine and dandy, just wastes a lot of oxygen. I've used this to do a demonstration, it does still work as you'd expect. It's just heavy. Really, really fricken heavy. Gives you a new found respect for our counterparts of the past! Weights 43lbs.
