FL(a small town on the Apalachicola River near Tallahassee in the FL Panhandle) The bottle is approximately 8.5" tall and 4" in diameter. It still retains the original metal wire used to hang it. It held one liter and had approximate measurements on the side in cc. It was made by Cutter Laboratories in Berkeley, California. Antique 1920s Surgical Medical Embalming Stand w Enamel + Glass IV Bottle Tool
Up for your consideration is this 1920's surgical/embalming stand with 3 enamel pans and a glass IV bottle/funnel. This piece was acquired from a funeral home in Massachusetts that was built in the late 1800's and close sometime in the 1980's. These stands were often used for embalming in the home of the deceased(home embalming was very common during the earlier part of the 20th century) This stand has a cast iron base with moving casters. Its frame is made of two metal poles. The top telescoping and adjusting from 5.5 feet to 7.5 feet. The metal frames which hold a bowl and tray swivel and articulate. The tray stand also pivots downward. Above the enamel pan rests a metal IV bottle which is removable. This is an early example of an IV bottle and still has rubber attached to the lower tip. Overall this near 100 year old stand ... moreis in excellent condition with minor oxidation due to age. We do see the base and tray frames appear to have been painted with a thick, lead type paint. Vintage 500cc Glass Laboratory IV Blood Solutions Bottle Up for auction is a authentic vintage glass 500cc.5 Liter IV bottle graduated in cubic centimeters. It's 7" tall and 3-1/8" in diameter. These are real not the reproduction seen being sold by other dealers. The type used in WWII and the Korean War(1952) by the early MASH units. It is in good vintage condition but the metal seals are often corroded and unsalvageable as is the stopper and glass tubes but if I can save them I will add them to the bottle. There are no chips or cracks. The bottle may require further cleaning and does have some slight cloudiness. Up for bid are two matching antique/vintage medical iv bottles. Included on each is a steel rim and hanger. The measurements are in cubic centimeters and are marked on the side of the bottle. The numbers are listed right side up and upside down so reading the amounts would be easy regardless of the position of the bottle. Each bottle is marked to hold 1000 cu/cm. The original caps and rubber stoppers are included. Attached to the stopper on the inside of the bottle is a thin glass pipette which aids in reversing suction of the liquid. Also included are the thin round tabs which indicate the contents of each bottle. One reads 10% in water and the other reads 10% in saline. Unusual Antique Large German Medical Science Porcelain Coated Irrigator IV
This is a very unusual German made piece of early medical equipment and looks to be for irrigation or possibly an early form of IV. This large piece would have been hung up and filled with liquid. A hose would have been attached to the spout that would then be used to irrigate wounds or surgeries or could have been connected to an IV needle for administering intravenous fluids.
