Vintage KUSTOM 200 guitar bass amplifier amp, K200 K200B-1, tuck roll pleat
Here is a vintage late 60s/early 70s Kustom amplifier head. Model K200B-1, in the famous, ultra-cool black tuck-n-roll(roll and pleat) cabinet. The amp is complete and intact. Has all knobs, glass jewel pilot light cover, original power cord. The face is a little dirty, but looks good. Black tuck-n-roll cabinet is in very good shape, showing only light wear, and no visible rips or tears, only a small cigarette burn on top, as seen in the photos. The photos should tell the condition very well. The amp powers on, pilot light lights up, but the amp hums. I connected it to an 8-ohm cabinet to test it, but when it hummed upon powering it on, I simply shut it off. Therefore, it should be considered in non-working condition, although it may be an easy fix to correct the hum. When working, it provides 100 watts of pure old-school power! Think around 1967/68 with Altec G15A(Kustom by Ross) probably made earlier 60s, this amp and cab was sitting in a closet for years and looks it cause there barely a scratch on it,all the tuck and roll looks awesome with the exception of one,half inch size split at the very bottom left of the cab. Has original speaker cable and two prong power cord( not the safest thing but leave that to you) pots are a bit scratchy nothing to crazy they cleaned up from just surface cleaning with contact cleaner but would be even better if taken apart and cleaned ... morereally good and due to the ungrounded cord it has a slight hum(should go away with grounded cord) reverb,harmonic clipper,boost all works, for its age this thing looks great,even the Crome wheel hoods are barely even pitted which most of the time there all rusty. Vintage Kustom Amp (with covers) in Charcoal Silver Sparkle Tuck and Roll !!!
Wow! Here is a 1970 vintage Kustom 100 in charcoal sparkle. The glittery tuck-and-roll upholstery on this'piggy back' amp is beautiful. Absolutely clear. Thick and pliable naugahyde in Charcoal Silver. No imperfections worth mentioning. No rips or tears, not even a cigarette burn(unusual for an amp from this period) The color is very vibrant with no cloudiness whatsoever in the vinyl. Cabinet has both handles intact and nice newer chrome casters with no rust. Grill cloth and ports are perfect. Jack plate says"CTS" but I replaced the original 15" speaker with a brand new Roland 1238B with a 3" chrome voice-coil dome. You can specify the original speaker if you'd rather have it. The head is a K100-2- one channel with foot-switchable effects. The controls are volume. Bass and treble with high or low gain input ... moreon the left, plus reverb, speed and intensity on the other side. Kustom heads have some background"hiss" which is typical. Everything works. But you will want to have the head cleaned and tested for reliable gigging, as it has probably never been touched in its 43 years. Kustom used all American-made. Military grade components, for example, Mallory capacitors, so they are very easy to maintain. Even has the original two-prong plug with extra long cord. Includes a set of new(nice! covers which have never left the house. This is probably the best example of an untouched Kustom 100 that you will ever see. Please feel free to ask questions. Up for auction is a beautiful 119-year old day-by-day book. Entitled, THE YEAR BOOK OF ENGLISH AUTHORS Written and Compiled by Ida Scott Taylor and Illustrated in Colours by Frederic Hines. Published in New York by Raphael Tuck& Sons in 1894. FIRST EDITION. 372 pages. The book owes its format to the daily devotional books popular in the earlier 19th century. Which would contain 365 meditations on a particular Bible verse, or psalm, or parable. However, in this case, Taylor has selected pieces from English literature, using examples of poetry and prose from such poets as Swinburne, Arthur Hugh Clough, Robert Burns, George MacDonald, Edmund Spenser, Charles Kingsley, Alfred Lord Tennyson, and of course, William Shakespeare, among others. Each months has a different color lithograph plate by Hines. The postcard photo is a color tinted. Printed photo image; it is not a Tuck real photo or RPPC US Navy postcard. Minor all around wear/rounding(see images) to card front corner points and edges. There are tiny(approx. 1/16" or less) point tip scuff traces and or tip crimps right at/on the actual tips of several of the front corner points(left lower excluded) HOWEVER, all FRONT CORNER POINTS and EDGES remain VERY FIRM. The card back(see images) is very clean and all printed text, TUCK LOGOS and the stamp box remain very sharp. CRUISER USS CHICAGO CA-14 SHIP’S HISTORY. SPANISH AMERICAN WAR& WWI SERVICE: The first Chicago, a protected cruiser, was launched ... more5 December 1885 by John Roach and Sons, Chester, Pa. sponsored by Miss E. Cleborne; and commissioned 17 April 1889, Captain H. B. Robeson in command; classified CA-14 on 17 July 1920. On 7 December 1889 Chicago departed Boston for Lisbon, Portugal, arriving 21 December. The cruiser served in European and Mediterranean waters as the flagship of the Squadron of Evolution until 31 May 1890 when she sailed from Funchal, Madeira, to call at Brazilian and West Indian ports before returning to New York 29 July. Chicago operated along the east coasts of North and South America and in the Caribbean as flagship of the Squadron of Evolution and, later as flagship of the North Atlantic Squadron, until 1893. After taking part in the International Naval Review in Hampton Roads in April, she left New York 18 June 1893 to cruise in European and Mediterranean waters as flagship of the European station.
